C'mon..... you imported the Agni-5's guidance systems from Russia and diverted it from civilian space exploration to ballistic missile. Of course the Russians don't want to see india targeting Moscow!

I believe in what the Chinese are saying because we sometimes purportedly do things so that there is no anger against India across the globe. We have said to the global community that our space organisation ISRO is a civilian organisation but we know very well that many of the technologies developed by the ISRO are finding its place in DRDO's labs. Also it is interesting to note how we got the Russian nuke sub since under international agreements, transfer of these subs are prohibited but there is no problem with a lease agreement which we took advantage of It may be true that the A-5 range may be more than 8K but that would have derailed our strategic engagement with the US, so DRDO was told not to exceed the 5K barrier.

Are you this ignorant ? Space/nuke technology & alot of other scientific advancements like robotics/AI are dual purpose i.e. they can be used for civilian & military purposes so we haven't diverted anything !
Beyond that IND has always complied with intl obligations & not proliferated(read exported) their nukes or missiles elsewhere unlike alot of others.

@topic: I don't think India will develop Agni 6. India's " integrated guided missile programme " will be completed with induction of Agni 5. So no Agni 6 for sure - atleast now
After Agni 5 main focus will be on SLBMs mainly K series and their induction and ASAT capabilities development and induction. It will definately need 3/4 years. So even if India decide to develope missile with more range than Agni 5 it's not going to happen in near future. But it's sure that it will take 1/1.5 years to do so when GOI shows green flag to DRDO for that

The difference is China reverse engineered USA technology and we can make it on our own. india has to import component because it cannot indigenously manufacture. Your inventory of Agni-5 is limited by your inventory of Russian guidance systems.

In other words, u steal, take it apart, put it back together, make a dozen copies and call it your own..

Don't know who is ignorant here?? Can u answer me why ISRO is still partially banned by US, if we do not divert anything than what in the world is stopping US (our so called strategic partner) from giving advance technologies to ISRO & India? Also u should know that for the first nuclear explosion in 1974, the fuel was taken from CYRUS reactor which was made from Canada's help & we said to them it will be only for peaceful purposes. This prompted the western countries to establish NSG in 1974.

This is the most immature statement i have seen here. We need an ICBM just in case our relation with US deteriorate for any reason (remember 1971, US was in bay of bengal with an aircraft carrier task force) so they should no that this time we have a credible retaliation power.
