Its shows but tall claims made by them makes it impossible to prove in actuals. When it cans how RAAD moving air what it stop them from showing it can hit target, until n unless it didn't hit target. Reason is obvious. Many are very tall claims.

So, I guess what you are trying to say is that if someone makes claim and later reveals information to support those, then you have reasons to doubt their claim. But, you would blindly accept the claims made by a party which never gave out any information to support their claims by hiding behind some absurd reasons. Even US military makes clear its contemporary capabilities and hides those which world has not even thought of at the moment.

No, I don't blindly accept those claims...rather I question and argue against them where they sound illogical.
Its the mindset of the military, not the fault of the development organizations. The products are there, they are just not being "advertised".

I have read the replies. You should consider too that Dr. Iyenger is also a former AEC Chairman, so if he is supporting Dr. Santhanam, there is a valid reason behind it.


The guys who questioned are not the authority and do not hold the same authenticity as the guys who claimed it a success. No doubt that Dr. Iyenger is a prominent scientist but has retired a long back. He is not supposed to have the full detail on the subject as Mr. Kakodkar and Mr. Chidambaram have. Mr. Kakodkar has very explicitly stated that the TN explosion was confirmed by more than 1 method Such as radio active study of sample obtained from test site etc. Each and every study has confirmed the occurrence of fusion test with planned yield.

Agni-III's motors are made of Maraging Steel, which is much heavier than the composites used in the motors of Agni-IV. On top of that Agni-III's ReV is also larger and heavier than Agni-IV's and Agni-V's (both use the same design).

No. Only second stage of A4 used composite motor against Margin steel motor used by A3. A3's RV is longer and than A4. Why? Simply because it is developed to carry huge load. It can either be a huge conventional load which A4 can not carry or MIRV in a large No which A4 can not carry. Else why would they build large RV? This in itself is an indicator that A3 is a potent missile compare to A4. If A4 can hit 4000 KM with X payload, A3 can hit 4000 KM with (X+y) load or hit 4000+A KM with same load as A4.

Who told you that technologies developed for A4 shall not flow down in A3? Tassy thomas has stated that his team reduced the weight of missile to 22 tons. Now compare a 17 tons of missile with 1.3 dia motor and 22 tons of missile with 2.0 dia motor with same technology. You will get an answer whether A3 can hit 5500 Km with a huge load or not?

I know that an official claims was made regarding CEP of Agni-V, but can you tell me exactly how was it achieved?
BrahMos is an AShM, there is no question about its accuracy. People can accept it, if there is more realism and less jingoism in the claims being made.


Had there been No video of Brahms striking the target 0 CEP, you would have denied the same also like many of your country man denies today. We are claiming because our prominent scientist categorically states that we achieved that which nobody else is believed to have achieved. It is the same way as we believe the claim of other country such as US or Russia which has history of making reliable claims only. Where as your hypothesis is based on the thinking that India is not such an advanced country which can have such sophistication in missile technology. It seems that you and people like you will take some time to accept the reality that we have taken a giant leap in missile technology where we can make batter than the best. I only do not say that. Strategic Forces Command of Indian Army carried out flight trial of Agni IRBM at 4.55 pm today. Agni III is a 3000-km range nuclear capable ballistic missile. Agni already inducted into the Army. The two-stage surface-to-surface missile, which uses solid propellants, is 17-metres in length, weighs about 50 tonnes and has a diameter of two metres. It can cover a distance of 3,000 to 3,500 km in about 14 minutes. It can carry a nuclear warhead weighing about 1.5 tonnes.

The aim of the test was to achieve single digit accuracy reaching close to zero circular error probability (CEP). Stage is all set for the second user trial of nuclear capable Agni-III missile in full operational configuration. The indigenously developed surface-to-surface ballistic missile is likely to be test fired by the user (Indian Army) from a defence base off the Odisha coast on Monday.Initially scheduled for December 18, the test was deferred and rescheduled for Monday as the downrange ships carrying tracking equipment could not sail out to the possible point of impact due to tropical cyclone Madi formed over west-central Bay of Bengal on December 10. Defence sources said the personnel of strategic forces command (SFC) of the Army would carry out the test while DRDO would provide logistic supports. If everything goes according to the programme, the missile will be launched post noon.

Meanwhile, preparation for the scheduled test from the Wheeler Island, a test facility of the integrated test range (ITR), has reached final stage. A defence official said range integration has been completed and the missile integrated with the launcher.

“We are ready for the launch. The missile will be made vertical in the morning and fired with a dummy payload in a real time situation. Its first user trial on September 21 last year was a copy book success. We are expecting the same result this time too,” said the official. The missile which has been used for the test was picked up randomly from the assembly line after production.

It is propelled by solid fuel, facilitating swifter deployment compared to missiles using a mix of solid and liquid fuel. The first test of the missile on July 9, 2006 was a failure though its second, third, fourth developmental trials in 2007, 2008 and 2010 were successful. Meanwhile, India has successfully test fired its longest range missile Agni-V which can destroy the target at a distance of 5000 km.

The Agni series of missiles is part of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) launched in 1983.

New Delhi: India test-fired its nuclear-capable Agni-III ballistic missile on Monday from Wheeler Island off the Odisha coast with a strike range of over 3000 km, defence sources said.

The indigenously developed surface-to-air missile can carry a warhead of 1.5 tonne which is protected by carbon all composite heat shield.

The operation was carried out by the Strategic Forces Command of the Indian Army with logistic support from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The indigenously developed missile was flight-tested from a mobile launcher at launch complex-4 of the Integrated Test Range at about 1655 hrs, defence sources said.

"It was the second user trial in the Agni-III series carried out to establish the 'repeatability' of the missile's performance," a DRDO official said.

For data analysis, the entire trajectory of today's trial was monitored through various telemetry stations, electro-optic systems and sophisticated radars located along the coast, and by naval ships anchored near the impact point, the sources said.
