That Shushma is a witch, I dont like her but to be honest, she has bigger balls than Modi! LOL!

It is not about having balls it is about business pure business since Amazon plans to invest $5 billion in India and that is the reason the site had already taken off doormats with Indian flag printed on.

.
This is just to troll India. Very sure that this is the act of Chinese. And why would one buy those slippers unless one knows who Gandhi is, his principles and he hates Gandhi to core.

Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das today asked Amazon to desist from being flippant about Indian symbols and icons, cautioning it that "indifference will be at your own peril".

"Amazon, better behave. Desist from being flippant about Indian symbols & icons. Indifference will be at your own peril," Das said in a tweet.

In another tweet however he added: "Comment on Amazon was as a citizen of India as I felt strongly about it. Nothing more should be read into it."

Last week, after a strong protest by India over Amazon selling doormats depicting Indian flag, the e-retail giant removed the offensive article from its Canadian website.

A spokesman for Amazon based at its headquarters in Seattle had told The Washington Post that the doormat was no longer for sale on its website.

After the Indian flag incident, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had received several complaints of Amazon selling flip-flops with Mahatma Gandhi's image.

Some Twitter users have tagged Swaraj in their tweets complaining that the beach sandals with Gandhi's image were being sold on the Amazon US site.

When asked, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup did not specifically mention the issue, saying, "As a follow up to the matter regarding the sale of doormats with the Indian flag on Amazon, our Ambassador in Washington has been instructed to convey to Amazon that while providing a platform for third party vendors, they should respect Indian sensitivities and sentiments."

In the third tweet, Das said: "Remain committed to economic reforms, ease of doing business & open trade. Sometimes get touchy when our icons are involved."

.
Ofcourse they can track it but question is that why is Amazon even allowing such things to be put up on their servers? In any case its Amazon who is selling these things.

Havent they gone soft on Amazon? Previously Amazon was directly threatened that it wud be shut in India if doormates with Indian flag aint removed and then Amazon apologized but in case of Gandhi Ji themed flip flops, there is quite lukewarm response from same BJP led Govt while Indian Public is fuming over it.

Close on the heels of the Indian flag incident, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has now received several complaints of Amazon selling flip-flops with Mahatma Gandhi's image.

Some Twitter users have tagged Swaraj in their tweets complaining that the beach sandals with Gandhi's image were being sold on the Amazon US site.

The posting on the Amazon says, "CafePress - gandhi Flip Flops - Flip Flops, Funny Thong Sandles, Beach Sandles" with a listed price of USD 16.99.

Earlier this week, after she received a complaint about Amazon Canada selling doormats depicting Indian flag on its site, Swaraj reacted sharply and asked the e-retailer to withdraw the products and tender an unconditional apology, failing which no official of Amazon will be granted Indian visa and the ones issued earlier will also be rescinded.

Following the stern message, Amazon expressed regret for "offending" Indian sentiments and informed Swaraj about removal of the offensive product from its Canadian website.

Ruling out the much-talked about US-China trade war under the Trump presidency, founder of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Jack Ma said the poor plight of American economy was due to the costly wars waged by Washington and has nothing to do with trade ties with Beijing.

China and the US will not start a trade war as President Donald Trump is an open-minded person who needs more time, Ma said.

Ma, who has met Trump promising to create a million jobs in the US and market a million American products, said it is wrong to ascribe America's economic problems to China.

It is the US that is responsible for its sluggish economy, given that USD 14 trillion was wasted on waging war over the past 30 years rather than investing in infrastructure. China did not steal American jobs, Ma said, adding that the loss of jobs is a strategic mistake on the part of the US, state-run People's Daily reported today.

The US adopted a strategy to control intellectual property rights and select brands three decades ago, leaving lower-level works to the rest of the world, Ma said.

Besides, multi-national American enterprises like Microsoft and IBM have created hundreds of millions in profits through globalisation.

This large sum could have been invested in infrastructure and employment, but was instead put towards 13 wars, he said.

The US simply failed to allot the funds reasonably, Ma said adding his meeting with Trump was much more productive than expected the discussions mainly focused on the issues of SOEs and China-US trade, especially American enterprises selling in Asia through Alibaba's platform, which will provide about one million jobs for Americans in various ways.

It is easy to wage a trade war, but hard to end the war - perhaps even impossible. If trade stops, the war will start, Ma predicted noting that trade enables people to exchange both culture and business ideas, while also acting as a deterrent for war.

Sino-US trade volume grew from USD 2.5 billion in 1979 to USD 519.6 billion dollars in 2016, surging by 211 times within 38 years.

The trade balance however tilted heavily in favour of China as it exports over USD 400 billion worth of goods to US.

Amid talks of trade war between the top two economies of the world, China questioned the US ruling to levy heavy duties on several Chinese products days before Trump took over.

New Delhi: After the much outrage over Amazon selling customised 'Mahatma Gandhi flip-flops' and 'India flag doormats', an American online retailer is making headlines for hurting Indian sentiments by allegedly selling products with the picture of a prominent Hindu God and an auspicious symbol.

Naresh Kadyan, who on Wednesday filed a complaint against two US-based online retailers for selling beer with Lord Ganesha's picture on its label and footwear sporting the 'Om' symbol.

Bharat Scouts and Guides commissioner Kadyan lodged two complaints against the website yeswevibe.com for selling shoes with the Om symbol and another against lostcoast.com for using Lord Ganesh's image on beet bottle packaging and labels.

"These are two separate cases. We found that this company has been selling shoes with 'Om' imprinted on it. We later filed a complaint. We raised this matter and approached Police Commissioner and the concerned ministers, but no action was taken. Later we found that the company was selling beer bottles with lord Ganesha's figure on its label. Yesterday, again we registered the case with the police," Kadyan said while speaking to ANI.

Kadyan said the issue should not be viewed as a religious one as these symbols are considered to be a source of positive energy for the people.

"We don't consider this to be a religious issue because we believe that the Om symbol carries a positive energy and the same is considered with the Lord Ganesh's figure. Every religious person believes that. We have given two days time to Delhi Police to take stringent action and if they fail to act, we would again approach ministers from the BJP and the AAP government. We will make sure that these products are banned in Delhi and as well as in the US," he said.

Kadyan has written a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to register an FIR against the websites and asked them to ensure that the products are removed from sale with immediate effect.

The second complaint was filed at Delhi`s Prashant Vihar police station, in which it was stated that the symbol Om is affiliated with religious feelings and beliefs of Hindu communities across the globe.

"Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs, violated the different sections of the laws of land, including 295 A and 153 A of the IPC," reads the complaint.

With a 1.6-k.m. conveyor belt, it can handle 1,000 trucks a day
Amazon customers especially those in the ‘prime’ category can expect to have their respective packages to be delivered within a day or two with the multinational giant opening its biggest facility in the country at the Shamshabad International Airport on Thursday.

The 4 lakh sq.ft ‘fulfilment centre’ providing 2.1 million cubic feet of storage space will be fifth such centre in Telangana taking the total storage space to 3.2 million cubic feet in the State which will also directly benefit the 10,000 sellers enrolled, according to Akhil Saxena, vice-president, India Customer Fulfilment, at the inaugural launch.

Built in less than a year, the centre which can handle up to 1,000 trucks a day is totally digitised with a 1.6 km long conveyor belt for moving all kinds of bar-coded goods with packaging material supplied by local businessmen and employs scores of workers involved in packing, transporting, coding, etc. “We are totally focussed on our sellers and buyers trying to innovate on how India buys and sells. From 100 sellers in two categories to 100 million products we have come a long way in the last four years with 2 lakh sellers,” he said.

Growth in TS

There are 41 fulfilment centres in 13 States with 50 delivery centres in TS and 2,000 partners in kirana shops, teashops, beauty parlours, etc. “We have seen 100% growth and in Telangana alone our sellers have increased by 120% to 10,000,” said Mr. Saxena, while refusing to part with any investment figures.

GMR Airport CEO C.G.K. Kishore said that the centre will add to the investor confidence in the city and State and hoped to see an ‘Amazon Park’ to come up here. Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the centre launch was a proud moment and the Government was getting ready with a retail trade and logistics policy for promotion of e-commerce, warehousing firms and dry ports.

Hyderabad’s geographical location, infrastructure, connectivity and policies is an added attraction, he said and pointed out that the biggest development facility of Amazon will also be opened next year.
