'After 2001 Parliament attack, India deployed nuclear missiles on border'

THAT WAS 11 YEARS AGO.

200 KILOTONNES

JUST IMAGINE wat tech they may have no

Remember 50 years ago you had mig 21s can you imagine in 1960 they would have thougt what will we have in 50 years. And they still have mig 21s in 2011

A total of five nuclear weapons were detonate during Operation Shakti. They were:

Shakti I

A two stage thermonuclear device with a boosted fission primary, its yield was downgraded from 200 kt (theoretical) to 45 kt for test purposes.

Shakti II

A pure fission device using the Plutonium implosion design with a yield of 15 kt. The device tested was an actual nuclear warhead that can be delivered by bombers or fighters and also mounted on a missile. The warhead was an improved, lightweight and miniaturized version of the device tested in 1974. Scientists at BARC had been working to improve the 1974 design for many years. Data from the 1974 test was used to carry out computer simulations using the indigenous Param supercomputer to improve the design. The 1998 test was intended to prove the validity of the improved designs.

Shakti III

An experimental boosted fission device that used reactor grade Plutonium for its primary with a yield of 0.3 kt. This test device was used to test only the primary stage. It did not contain any tritium required to boost the fission. This test was designed to study the possibility of using reactor grade plutonium in warheads and also to prove India's expertise in controlling and damping a nuclear explosion in order to achieve a low (sub-kiloton) yield.

Shakti IV
A 0.5 kt experimental device. The test's only purpose was to collect data about the explosion process and to study the performance of various bomb components.

Shakti V

A 0.2 kt experimental device that used U-233, an isotope of uranium that is not found in nature but is produced in India's fast breeder reactors that consume Thorium. This device too was used to collect data.

Ares mate if those reports make you feel good and safe thats brilliant

There were some what a million soldiers.....eye ball to eye ball....Indians remained paralysed on the border for a almost a year and in process lost close to 500 men without a shot being fired in anger.

how many migs fell down that year?

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reportedly asked US secretary of state Hillary Clinton to convince Pakistan to withdraw its troops from the Line of Control as Indian forces were "far from the border and were no threat to Pakistan". A US diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks on a meeting

between Singh and Clinton on November 24 last in Washington said Singh acknowledged

Because pakistan called Saudis, Chinese, Americans and all the masters and was crying. In other words pakistan requests masters to stop India from attacking which by the way India was not even doing. Then our PM has to tell them that our army was far from the border and not threat to pakistan. You don't have to be scared all the time, its simple.

Why bother if India does not have the capability to detonate nuclear weapons. just chill... why bother about this thread then?

Because they very well know what we did to them without nuclear bombs.. we should understand why they are so scared and make long distance calls to east and west.

i am chilling lol. am pakistani on pakistani forum making comments what wrong with that eh?

Now that you are sounding all chilled out, what is the big deal if India moved its nuclear weapons to Pak border if indeed you are so confident that India does not have the capabilities as its tests failed ?

So either you are not making any sense or you are $hit scared. Which one is it ? :azn:

Didnt realise that Indians had an effective nukes and delivery systems in 2001.

the whole world used to say the world was flat until they found out it wasnt

 at your logic, anyways keep on thinking that India does not have any nuclear capability.

Edit: Also if someone says Pakistan does not possess nuclear weapons can you at your level prove beyond doubt that you actually do. Don't quote media reports that says Pak has 80-100 nukes b'cos the same media reports says India also has 80-100 nukes. If your answer to the above question is yes than prove it and if no than u dont have an option other than believing that we also do. We at our level here cannot prove that India does possess nuclear weapons. SO the only way to find out will be whenthe need arises. Also India could have moved its nuclear weapons as a precautionary measure anticipating that during the conventional war Pak might push the panic button and fly some nukes so India might have wanted to be ready to do the same in that scenario.
Personally I think India's no first use policy has to be withdrawn and during war India should not wait to be attacked first thats just lame.

Similarity can be drawn between B-52's which were in operation 50 years ago and is still operational now. Anyways, Ops Parakram had an economic component added to it as well. Although no shots were fired, the deployment did cost both the countries and since economy of Pakistan is still not as strong as India, it affected Pakistan more than it did India.

Remember MiG 21 have been flying since last 40 odd years. It takes a lot of maintenance and hard work to put them in the sky every time. with up gradations it has become a potent second line defence platform. Although it is still showing its age. It is not due to IAF that MiG 21 is flying, it is due to our MoD.

but b52s dont keep falling out of sky and are not called coffins

Alright sonny, agreed with you. Our planes are called coffins and we don't have nuclear bombs. Still we don't get panic and call Saudis Chinese and Americans.

Because they very well know what we did to them without nuclear bombs.. we should understand why they are so scared and make long distance calls to east and west.

So Major saab tell me one thing Do u think War is good for us in any way.

Yaa but look at their numbers and look at the amount of flying they do. There are just about 90 odd B-52's left and they have hardly flown 10,000hrs combined last year. Compared to roughly 300 Migs, which have put in more than 1.2 lakh flying hours in the last year alone.
