Afghanistan beats India U23 to create cricket history

@BCCI ban Afghan team :pissed:

Just kidding mates!!

Congrats Afghan team.. Seems like Afghan have a good bowling attack..If I am not wrong, they gave a good fight against Pakistan too with a small score..

Afghanistan is doing well in sports.....good to see one more cricket rival....
IMHO, Afghans will make good bowlers due to their strong physical build.....and hence, can become a cricket power soon....with proper training.

Indeed if they had trained our players we must.

:) But you should do so now its due upon you because Afghan players had been trained raised in Peshawar and not long ago their earlier victories also have share of Pakistanis playing as Afghanistanis. indeed with fulfilling all Afghan NIC/Passport formalities.

y waste time with a chootya?

Achha hai. Good to see Afganis playing quality cricket. Their bowling is already among the international level. hey just need to improve technically on their batting. Once done, afganis will be another team in test level.

Skipper Mohammad Nabi's three-wicket haul crippled Indian batting and helped Afghanistan register their first win in any format against a Test-playing nation.

In an Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup group clash, Afghanistan national team registered a historic 28-run win against India under-23 in Singapore on Thursday. This is the team's first win in any format of cricket against a Test-playing nation.

With just 184 runs to defend, Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi led from the front and his three wickets at an economy of 3.20 left the Indian batsmen reeling. Apart from a half-century from opener Lokesh Rahul, none of the other Indian batsmen could negotiate the Afghan attack. Needing 185 for a win, India finished at 156 for nine when their 50 overs ran out. Inspite of the defeat, India qualified for the semi-finals where they play UAE on Friday.

On Thursday, India started as overwhelming favourites with several members of the Under-19 World Cup-winning squad in the playing XI. The likes of Unmukt Chand (10), Baba Aparajith (2) and Ashok Menaria (5) however failed to push the Afghans.

Afghanistan batted first after losing the toss. Openers Karim Sadiq (25) and Mohammad Shahzad (38) provided a solid foundation before middle-order batsman Samiullah Shenwari hit an unbeaten 43 off 44 to propel the innings to 184/7.

This win comes as the second boost to Afghan sports after the national football team on Wednesday, defeated Pakistan in a friendly leading to jubilant celebrations on the streets of Kabul.

Brief scores:

Afghanistan under-23: 184/7 in 50 overs (Samiullah Shenwari 43*, Mohammad Shahzad 38; Baba Aparajith 2/16) defeat
India under-23: 156/9 in 50 overs (Lokesh Rahul 51; Mohammad Nabi 3/32).

Great Job. Congratulations. Just wishing Afghanistan...many more victories in the coming years.

Congrats to the Afghans. First football (soccer) against Pakistan, and then cricket (under-23) against India. One more sport victory and they'll be on a roll.

Don't fish in air. :blah:

Its hard nut to crack for pak team to beat India and you are talking as your so called training is to do with it. :blah:

Don't try to steal fame from the hard work and talent of Afghans. :pissed:

Afghans have ruled pakistan for hundreds of years and its more then enough to prove their quality and capability.

News for you but Pakistani under 23 beat the same Afghan team 2 days ago. :)

And Indian U23 beat the Pakistani U23 4 days back:).

Yeah I know. Just reminding a typical stupid troll from your country. Talking about Afghans ruled Pakistan and all that. :)

What kind of pakhtun are you that you are not happy over Afghanistan's win?. All members are congratulating Afghanistan yet you chose to show your inner "bughaz" against Afghans.
