Afghan - Iran clashes over Water Rights

When there are droughts and no water for AFG, where do Iranians expect them to produce water? It was very foolish of Iranian Gov this week issuing threats to Kabul this whole stupidity incident is Irans own making

Agreed thats what I am saying. Iran wanted to gain some points out of nothing. There President was on a visit to Pak and ended up chest thumping by threatening Taliban out of nowhere.

Taliban responded in kind attacking Irani border posts with rapid reaction forces penetrating as far as 4-5 miles into Iran and killing/capturing Irani soldiers. Now the ball is in Irans court.

Nibba stop the 🧢🧢🧢🧢🎓🎓🎩🎩

Those shias would be made Sunni overnight by the Taliban if they act against the state.

Shias were erased from North of Afghanistan the first time they made mutiny against Taliban in the 90s.

This is not Syria or Lebanon, were Iran can play games. This is Afghanistan. Even a threat is answered with an attack.
The Arabs who hated Shias for centuries have finally moved on from propagating and committing violence against them. You are the only Islamic country in the world that does that. Shows how immature you are.

Before you express your islamic nationalism understand that it it was the Persians that made your ancestors muslims lol

Persians have great history and culture, and an educated population that is at least 10 generations ahead of you. First unite your own country and give rights to your citizens before telling others what to do.

As for Iran as a country, I would be worried if I were you. It will take only 1 nuclear bomb to wipe you off from the map.

Who is gonna break Afghanistan will you send angles from the sky NATO tried and so did Soviet union.. When will people learn.. You just gotta leave the Afghans alone they don't have intentions beyond their borders. All their wars was defensive in nature and who is willing to repeat that mistake again and again.

Don't translate some irrelevant border fire by invididuals at the borders on both sides. There is no political intention from the core gov't to change borders or become hostile towards anyone. Why do people find it worthy to actully misintepret their intentions
The Soviets and NATO didn't try to break Afghanistan, they instead tried to keep the Afghan nation together and bring them under their respective control.

This is why both failed.

Breaking Afghanistan is far easier.

No one is misinterpreting anything, Afghanistan as a state has a history of disunity and hostility towards its neighbors.

Tomato or tamoto same shit. They tried to subdue Afghanistan it didn't work they came with the best forces, technologny everything. Are you telling me couple of starved out Uzbeks, Tajiks, Pakistan or Iran etc etc are gonna force themselves on Afghanistan. just no.

Afghanistan has approx 100m sleeper cells in Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan itself this will open up a gap and strifes behind enemy lines example Imam Rahman of Tajikistan will go out in days becasue the whole country has zillions of sleeper cells the same in Uzbekistan. IEA has always been the tip of an iceberg

First that water treaty in the 70s was made with the Shah regime. Why should Afghanistan even follow that treaty when Iran can’t even accept the new Gov of Afghanistan. And Afghanistan is not their back yard. Droughts have been hitting that region significantly over past 3 years and Afghanistan has every right to maintain the water flow in time of droughts. Iran didn’t have balls to say anything to the previous Gov supported by America, now they are shouting bullying since they think they have the upper hand.

Trying to explain that to people is like shouting in the wind my friend, it is a fruitless exercise. If the yanks really wanted they could have levelled the country in a flash and called it a day, Afghanistan was an experiment in nation building, but an expensive one and one they will not soon repeat. Having worked in Afghanistan as you know I have mentioned before; it was surreal, outside of Kabul everything was underdeveloped, corrupt ALP (Local Police) roamed and demanded bakhsheesh and were basically Taliban in government uniforms.

Kabul was a strange city to visit, it was like a mirage in an otherwise desolate space. Countless SIGAR reports have mentioned how the elected government, rampant corruption and security breaches by interpreters and local contractors working on building contracts etc were funnelling funds and intel to the Talibs. During 2004,2005 and 2006 the yanks even attempted to promote co-working between Pakistan/Afghan law enforcement where their officers came to Islamabad for training at our National Police Academy, I have shared data about this before.

All that ended when Karzai got a bee in his bonnet with the NDS headed by Amrullah Saleh and his newly appointed (pseudo-intellectual) analyst Popal Roshana who was promoted 10 grades above her rank started sowing anti-Pakistani propaganda whilst in Islamabad and when challenged by Islamabad and even saner voices in Kabul all the malba was dumped on Islamabad's doorstep by the Karzai government, that Pakistan was harbouring talib's on the border and launching attacks inside Afghanistan to destabilise the government.

Long story short - If the US wanted the Afghan war could have ended in one day!

They are going to get hammered by the Iranians.
After yesterday’s message to Taliban by Saif al Adl’s father in law, I agree with you. Taliban will be alone in this fight and even have opposition from within. The timing is very important tho. Nothing happening should be taken at face value.

The timing is key, why now? Especially when you think about what is happening in the region and top level negotiations.

Lmao..

It is people like you who don't understand the nature of war. Listen what do you think wars are made out of video games. That is not how it works my friend.

If they could have done one day as you said then it would have been over? But the question is why was it not over they used 20 years to fight not giving them candies.

You don't understand the tactical level of a conflict. The Russians thought they were gonna win within days and miscalculated because of the Crimea incident. Any conventional conflict with Afghanistan will be a meat grinder going further besides they are well armed now they have drones and other things, battle hardened and in conflict it will open shop meaning stake claimers will always enter a conflict financing one or the other side and all of sudden before you know it we will find ourselves in a meatgrinder hell with no way out of it meaning with no ceasefire possibility

No,it's not the same thing. You know why they both failed?

Because of the Afghan governments themselves were useless. And most of Afghans were corrupt, lazy and had a tribal mentality. You know why the Taliban succeeded? Because they at least had strict rules enforced among them and a fanaticism that drove them to a single purpose. They also terrorized the areas they took over and nobody dared to rise up.

It wasn't USA that was defeated,it was the Afghan government. The Americans and most of the foreign allies had already left.

The Soviets had had enough of it. They could have pulverized all of Afghanistan. Instead both tried to civilize it.

Well these people can't be civilized. They don't want to. Some do,yes but the majority just want to live in their tribal ways and medieval society with a hardcore Islamic tradition.

Where did you come up with those statistics?
