It would allow everything to be more spread out and fair. For example, Punjab has the biggest say on not only which party wins elections, but the biggest chunk of the government budget that's distributed to provinces, simply due to being the richest and most populated province. Imagine if Punjab was split in two pieces, or even 3 or 4. Each province would have their own representatives, it would give smaller parties a better chance of winning; As it is, areas within Punjab that didn't vote for PML-N, they still end up getting a noon-league representative, simply due to the fact that noon-league won the province, which helps them convinces smaller parties and independents of joining them.

The distribution of wealth would be better. If Punjab was split into two pieces, let's say between areas that a singular government spent money on, and areas that it neglected, the previously neglected area would have its own budget for development.

It would also help manage the country better. Instead of having 1 province with a large population, splitting the population would make things more manageable for government institutions, plus law and order.

[Edit]: I'm drowsy right now, I don't know if I explained it all that well, but basically it all boils down to this: One man can't drive 6 people, on a car that can only fit 4, so why not just get another driver? Or why not help get a license for one of the other people, and buy another car?

Pakistan is figuratively trying to drive a car with around 200 million people, when it only currently has enough seats for a little over half the amount.

Having more provinces would do a lot of good for Pakistan, but it shouldn't be based upon group mentality, but rather economic and geopolitical considerations.

Also, giving Afghan refugees Pakistani citizenship isn't a bad idea, but giving it to them without conditions IS a bad idea. There needs to be a better immigration and citizenship policy for Pakistan, especially since Pakistan's economy is going to grow quite quickly within a few years, which will result in neighboring countries looking at migrating to find jobs.

Mob mentality, and fear of the other. It's not so much that people should know better, because they DO know better, rather even the most rational person can give into fear, if they're faced with hardships everyday.

This is why we see rich and/or thriving nations having more liberal and progressive views, while poor and middle class nations having more conservative and stagnant views.

And we're stubborn in every field of life. It's like, we can never be wrong, and if someone proves is wrong with figures and facts then he's a traitor. This mentality needs to stop. And it needs to stop now, if we're to progress in any aspect of life.

These things take time. Keep in mind, it took the UK hundreds of years to develop their democratic institutions, and even then, it's still far from perfect. The America's forefathers solved their problem of democracy by introducing the electoral system, but today that system no longer applies, and can't be scrapped because of how deeply rooted it is within the US election system.

Social and political changes don't happen over night, and telling Pakistanis to have patience is completely unfair to them, because they're the ones who have to live and suffer the consequences of the differences of the system they live under. Having said that, the only ones who can do anything to change anything are Pakistanis, but the biggest obsticles they have to cross is their own apathy of the political and social system; Right now, their main concern is themselves and their families and nothing else matters, you have to convince them that changing the system for the better will help them and their family's futures.

If I am not mistaken, that was Gen Ziaul Haq (RA) shaheed's dream and the real reason behind Pakistan's enthusiastic support of the Afghan jihad, not a few billion dollars which were being given by Amerikkkans. His dream actually went much further, he envisioned a greater Pakistan which not only included Pak and Afghan but also the five Central Asian stans ( Ch Rahmat Ali's Tokharistan) with their practically infinite natural resources. If urban legend is to be believed, in one meeting he had run his finger over the map of Russian Central Asia and said that one day, it will all be Pakistan's. Such a Greater Pakistan would have been a true superpower. Maybe he was bumped off because of that ambition. Unfortunately his successors have been much smaller men than him and never had the long-term strategic vision that the late Jarnail sahib had.

Needless to say as an Indian Hindu, I cant be thrilled about such a prospect, but as a neutral observer, I cant but be impressed by his vision and strategic foresight.

My thought on this province issue is that we should convert divisions into provinces. Small administrative unit, easier to administer.

You have a point, NADRA have failed to cancel illegal CNIC. All of blocked CNIC are apparently of local pakhtuns somehow which will be unblocked due to political pressure. Many of them will never go back and hate isn't an answer.
