LAHORE: A scuffle broke out at the wedding of PTI MNA Farrukh Habib on Thursday night when Model Town Assistant Commissioner (AC) Zeeshan Ranjha conducted a raid at a farmhouse over one-dish rule violation.

The incident occurred at the Mian Mansion Farmhouse located at Jhulky of Kahna. The AC raided the farmhouse along with other officers on reports of violation of Marriage Act at the wedding ceremony.

An official said that owners of the farmhouse, Mian Mohsin and Mian Ahsan, were also present at the wedding besides a large number of guests. As the team entered the premises and observed violation of time limit and one-dish rule, the management offered resistance and tried to stop them from entering.

On using abusive language, the AC slapped one of the guests, which led to a brawl, the official said, adding that as the guests were “very influential” they forced the team to leave the premises and locked it from inside.

Meanwhile, the Model Town AC complained to the police and three vehicles of armed personnel reached the site. Police later arrested four of the alleged attackers, sealed the farmhouse and lodged a case against the suspects, including the farmhouse owners.

The official said that the PTI MNA escaped arrest as he had already left the venue before the arrival of police.

In the first information report, the complainant alleged that the raiding team was attacked, thrashed and threatened. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Nishtar Zone in-charge Muhammad Ali.

. .
So the patwari AC slapped a guest because they were serving more than one dish at their private event?... I'm glad they were thrashed.... In any case every patwari deserves whatever comes their way.

If rules were broken then justice needs to be served.
However, physical violence from anyone should not be tolerated.

At least read.

The AC slapped someone who was being abusive and obstructing the enforcement of the rule of law.
The AC was on the spot because of a legal violation. Moneyed and connected elite feel that they can break the "One Dish Rule" applied to all wedding functions --- in this case, the relevant AC got word and raided the place.

Should he have slapped the guest? No.
Did the guest deserve a slap? Definitely!

There are few things which I hate about Pakistani weddings:
- Lasts for days unnecessarily
- Never starts at time.
- It's always in the evening and goes way after midnight consuming a lot of energy(electricity)
- There are a lot dishes(wastage of food)

If I remember correctly, previous Punjab Govt. made a law to serve only 1 dish at a wedding ceremony and end the function at some particular time.

I personally dislike Govt. interfering at people's private lives but here I kinda agree.

Now, the Govt. has been changed from PML to PTI.

And, I am assuming the law still exists. If so, AC was right to raid no matter whoever was at the wedding.

If PTI fanboys don't like the law then ask your Govt. to change it.

People should learn to respect Police and not take matters into their hands.

If Police is exceeding its limits in a raid, lodge a complaint to higher-ups to address an issue.

This wasn't a police raid
AC is a district administration post like DCO there is no AC rank in Pakistani police
