A Sino-Indo Gathering in Xiamen(Amoy) and About Navneet Bakshi

They are Indians first!! Religion comes later! :-)

I wish there is more interaction between Indians and our Chinese friends. My cousin is in the merchant navy and presently stationed in Zhoushan China. He has wonderful things to say about his Chinese friends especially whenever he goes to Shanghai which is pretty often.

This impression is a far cry from most of the Chinese keyboard warriors on PDF!! :cheesy:

The same might be said of the Indian keyboard warriors on PDF。:D

And you are certainly one of the lot。:enjoy:

Hey dude! Yes, consider me your friend!

It takes around 16 hours from Delhi to Mumbai by train. (We don't have HSR here :P )

Goa is not really nearby Mumbai, as in it takes around 8-10 hours by train, mainly because this track doesn't have the best of trains.

PS-
In India we have many kind of trains.
The tier 1 are some specific trains running at 120-150 km/hr at top speeds between main stations.
The superfast are more general ones that run at 80-100 km/hr.

The cost is around 3000 ruppees. That will be around $50.
Wow,not cheap but affordable. 16 hours ok for me, I did try 32 hours from Shanghai to Jiayuguan(westernmost end of Great Wall) , 2955km. And BY HARD SEAT!

Mostly of chinese also didnt know the boudry conlict in 1962.Honestly .we care about our own business more than india.

I agree with you. Most young Chinese people do not know about it. On my many visits to China; whenever I had a chance to interact meaningfully with them.... I used to finally end up (mischievously) telling them:"look at me, I'm your enemy, since your country and mine fought a war".
Their reactions varied:
"What war?"
"Really, you're kidding"
"So what, I don't care"
"Ok, but you don't look like an enemy"
"Fine, now lets get back to whatever else we were talking about, or doing"
and of a similar nature...... so War Ver.02 never took place and we carried on as before. :)

Reading most Chinese newspaper, mostly about US, Europe, East Asia, sometimes Southeast Asia, India, frankly ,is not a common topic here. Don't get me wrong, really seldom talked about in public in China, mostly online.

That is correctly so. People want to talk about what is relevant to their lives.

There is no reason to wait, my friend. Just last week, I was in Varanasi wrapping up a shoot there; and I met with 3 young Chinese students there on a short flying visit. We spoke over meal-times at the place we were living. I asked them about their experiences, they said they were having a great time at all the places that they were visiting. So I mischievously said to them that India and China had fought a war in the past; therefore I was going to treat them as enemies. They just laughed at me and said that I was a very funny enemy. Then I told them (and now I'll tell you) about a Chinese-origin school-mate of mine (4th generation settled in India) who is one of my closest friends to this day (after decades). They were so interested; so I told him about his family's origins. The fact is that Silk which is such a favorite fabric of Indians (esp Indian women, including all the women in my family) was introduced by Chinese traders to India, many many years ago..... and his ancestors had something to do with that. They loved the story and...... we signed a truce and ended the war that did not begin. The students went home to China with some memories from me.... I think. And I got something to share with you here. :)

So....... now what are you waiting for? ;)

Not even a break. Next time i'll take HSR since a new line from Lanzhou along silk road to Xinjiang is open. I'm not so young and cannot tolerate 32 hours or more any more.

But netizens here do discuss deeply about India, some websites merely target India, like this one 三泰虎 - 从这里了解印度人对中国的看法 bilingually on Indian news and lives

can‘t agree more.I think all of us can present the different scenery of our motherland so that we can know different civilization on earth instead of hostile between us.

Ref the underlined part; that is understandable...... for two reasons primarily; it helps some guys to 'feel that they are stronger than they actually are' and it helps to gather "eyeballs" (or public attention) which in this age of the internet is connected to revenue.

Now look at the kind of Indo-Pak discussions here on this forum. Most times, it looks as if the members are determined to wipe each other off the face of this earth, and create a 'nuclear desert' in the region just like that! But how many really have the guts to actually fight in a war?
In any case, people are too fond of life to consider dying easily!

Online behaviours are different for off-line. I've read a lot about Japanese's online comments in their own Japanese websites, really astounded me. I don't mean @Nihonjin1051

@AndrewJin May I ask what's your job, seems like you travel everywhere, you really know how to enjoy life! :p:
Mostly I traveled in college, summer or winter vocations. Of course when one starts a stable job, one will get stuck

Do remember to tell me when you come here!
Of course. But now don't have too much time and i will visit India in the near future.:-)
