What's new

A sincere question to my Pakistani

My thoughts exactly! WTH?
seriously, I interact lots of such PMLn supporter in Pakistan. When they used to say that statement , next moment I ask to pardon me, need to see someone .... lol .. I see nation is becoming sick due to constant drip of corruption in there vein. It is so lethal. People of Pakistan has accepted corruption, because of these politicians.

I am not saying that...I am asking you 2 separate things:

that 70 years wala system, can you equate it to the system you are comparing it with (Western system)?
If no, then it cant be counted
If yes, then why hasnt it yielded?
One can not change the system overnight it needs to evolve. When US forces entered Japan after WW2 the commander told the japanese solder that he is free to live his own life by doing whatever he likes, this solder replied he is free and shot himself.

So moral of the story is change happens slowly.

Dear Fellow Pakistani,

This post of yours is factually so incorrect that i don't know where to start from. Though, i understand where are you coming from and your idea and emotions behind it but that's not how a country functions. Lemme address each point the way you have addressed.

Taxes have to be paid, period. But lemme tell you what tax paying countries have in common, a social security structure. Where the taxes are returned to the weak via a systematic system. Starting from health care, insurance of house, business, cars, life. Tax reduction for companies who reinvest their capital in their own buisness. Education is free and is of top notch and above all respect of it's citizens when they deal with them. Now out of all these (only have scratched the surface) what's being done for Pakistanis that they will feel incentivized to pay taxes?

Even after all these incentives in all of the countries of the world people try to evade taxes. That's how humans are, but there are systems in place to prevent that. Can you tell me which systems like that are there?

Now your second point, "you don't vote for progress", well people voted for progress overwhelmingly
(including me) and what did we get in return? Few arrests and corruption talks (press conferences)? Please spare us the talk and optics tell us that how many billion dollars have been retrieved by the government so far from "switzerland" "UAE" "London" "New York" "Paris" etc? Education was another agenda "progress" got the vote for, what have changed? please name one. In health sehat card has been introduced, but is that the health reforms that they got vote on? and i can keep going on.

Your third and most important point "We have a messed up political, social and financial system - yet you want a multibillion dollar war?"

Please tell me did the common Pakistanis did it? or the ones on the helms of power "for their own power" have destroyed all this? And this includes all state institutes, who have supported, abetted, encouraged certain factions of religious, political goons. Blame is not on a single one, is hamam main sara nanga hain. I won't be going in details, since not the time nor the topic under debate. These political and religious goons, who had state backing in return destroyed the institutes for their power.

Now lemme conclude, what pakistan is today is what "EVERY country in this world went through". But then they made systems and everything fell in place. They started putting their countries interests first and they became world leaders in economics, military, education, health, research and what not. So please spare us from "blaming all on people "who were kept jahil by design" by everyone in power, so that they don't ask questions.

Please start by asking questions and have some honor if you want things to be fixed. And let people debate, so that they learn from each other.
Yes the common man has been voting for corrupt politicians
As to social security first give tax then ask for social security

lols you are far from the war zone please light a joint relax let us handle this ourselves!
I wish there was button for your post so I can say no thanks

Dear, again no one will come to help us. It's not some kind of anti states sentiments. But, for example Saudis and UAE by lateral trade will reach almost 100 billion in next few years with Indian, why they jeopardize such a huge economic gain for us. Iran is under sanction since 1979, we have no trade with Iran for decades, there major partner is India. So, these nation has to earn revenue for there people of fight for our national cause. We have to fight for own interest. Again everything revolves around economic interest.
I understand that everyone look for their own interest. I was only pointing out the comparison made by OP regarding the 2 situation.

In foreign land we have to work 8 hours, In china, japan, Korea it is 12, and it is very productive work. In Pakistan we work for 3 hours and enjoy tea, meals, talking for 4 hours and leave office 1, 2 hours before
This is so true...also why I think 3-4 times before I would apply to USA or Far east! They work like mad! While Pakistanis barely work in comparison to the rest of the world!

Quite a humble smart analysis from a self acclaimed analyst. Have some substance to debate otherwise please refrain to quote.

You dont live in pakistan yet you want war ?
You dont know what person in pakistan goes through yet you celebrate more taxes on poor ?
I dont want war but if we cant escape it we need to be prepared!
I dont want the tax but we are already holding a world record for the nation that doesnt pay tax!

It is high time we look inside instead of others. What sickens me is some people in Pakistan can sell fake life saving medicines and dead chicken.
That is moral bankruptcy.
agreed...we have more ills and sins than need be and we want to be holier than thou as saviors?!

Hence why I said we dont really have a system and are just building one...Since we just started, it will take time to build it and attain the level of the Western social systems!

Right, the system was built already. My point is that we have kept up the British system already.

Change happens when there is incentive to change. Where is the incentive to change inside Pakistan to create a new system?

. .
70 years is enough but the real question is WAS A SYSTEM put in place in these 70 years?

If yes, why was it not updated or fixed when it did not deliver? It did deliver to the "elite"....but that doesnt mean it was THE system you and I are talking about! So, the actual answer is NO, there was no "system" (for society) in last 70 years coz if it was ...we would have seen something...
We were heading in right direction, even though lots of books written about power corruption pre Zia era. But, when Zia took over and decide to join Afghan war . That was the turning point of Pakistan history. And those political parties which crying now and raising anti establishment slogan, they all welcome the military govt. Then we got first baby Nawaz Shareef , who first ruined the civil service and bureaucracy and this list goes on and on and on ... I don't say Imran Khan is perfect, but his statement is 100 percent correct, that " I don't know from where should I start , corruption is deep down in every govt institution".
But at this moment I thanked Musharraf for the freedom of media, but don't know how we handle this freedom.

Your short answer had no logical backing, probably you didn't had time to read the long post since there was not much to it. But regardless, chao
