Hi
I hope you heard the news about 13 year old boy that was killed brutally few days ago.
It's a hot topic on Facebook.it happened in Sylhet.
I am noticing something disturbing in the comments section.People from other districts seems to have overwhelming hatred towards sylheti people, that made me sick.
I am curious to know why people are so mad at us?I don't find a clue.
They are calling us all kind of bad stuff under the fking sun and that's not cool. :frown:
They look so braindead,c'mon there's good and bad people everywhere, they are judging the entire population for the act of few demons?I bet hundreds of similar incidents happening all over the country.

I first head about the word sylhoti from a mainland bangladeshi... something like 'never trust a sylhoti, they are like snakes'.

Dont shy away from what Sylheti man did to an innocent child. Just put down your sylhety pride for a while.

A criminal is a criminal and should be called criminal, would you call the criminal dakhaiya if it had happened in Dhaka? No.neither we would bother finding out where he's from.
There is something else.

That's racist.
Heck we don't even bother them who works here or came to study.

For Quick bulk money, NRB sylhoty people hardly cares for respect ,humanity. In the end, you will keep shut my mouth by reminding I live by your foreign remittance. We do even accept the Guy was Bangladeshi, like we do need to change ourselves too.

But ofcourse, criminals are criminal. You cant shut peoples mouth who will tell anything about being sylhety. In the end, humanity sense will have to be more improved. You should agree with it.

Sorry what's a mainland Bangladeshi lol

I remember when 2 brothers were getting beaten to death with long sticks in Sialkot and people just crowded watching as well as local police.

How idiotic that people are trying to turn this incident into an anti-Sylheti one. This sort of thing hardly ever happens in Sylhet, which is why it is such big news.

Also the guys were caught by LOCALS when they tried to hide the body - funny how people miss that!

P.s. @hinduguy no-one can look down on Sylhetis.

Yes we are slightly apart from the rest of BD, we have an independent economy based on agriculture, tea, gas, remittances and tourism. We are also quite conservative and like to keep to our own, which can make others resentful sometimes - but sorry, that is their problem not ours.

Negative attitude towards Sylheti is not even a fraction of what have to endure by the people of Noakhali district. In entire Bangladesh, they are known as cunning, deceitful, selfish, greedy and what not.So in other district they try to hide thier Noakhali origin and are ashaimed.

Since when does syhlet have an independent economy.... its part and parcel of BD.... please do not make such silly comments giving the myriad of hindtva trolls fuels....

Living in uk where a large percentage of BD expats are from syhlet gives a somewhat mistaken impression of syhlet...

Perhaps you are too sensitive...... if it happened in Dhaka there would have been many people commenting along the same lines too....

No one is mad at you.... you guys are somewhat difficult to understand but no one is inherently anti sylheti or anti any district of BD..... you will get trolls making silly comments in social media.... its inevitable i am afraid ......

Last year 7 college student was beaten to death in Gabtoli and none of them were Sylheti.

People are jealous of Sylheti welll being. Its actually Sylhetis who look down at non Sylhetis not the other way around.

While sylheti of bd are like the mirpuri of pak, let's remember that poverty makes people do violent stuff. Impotent aggression, this is called. These guys are so feed up of their lives and that they are unable to do anything they beat up a boy for stealing, poetically to survive.
Happens all over south Asia, so you can't even blame the barbaric 7th century laws practised by Islamic nations.

Children should be loved not treated like this. In the past the Ottoman empire institutionalized child slaves for prevented debauchery. Now we see the westerners doing the same thing in SE Asia at a private level. India also has its share of child labour. Pakistan and central Asia has this bacche baaz culture. Not sure of Africa.
I think as a species we prey upon the weak.

Sylhetis are not that poor. Poor people from all over BD go to Sylhet for work. Like Dhaka and Chittagong.

I heard in that video they were talking about Brahmanbaria. Any of them can be from other districts?

And all kinds of sympathy starts to bruise after seeing some video or image. Behind the curtain much more violent things happen in volume but people keep silent in those cases interestingly.

We are one nation and believe me i don't discriminate againgst my brothers.

I am just giving some perspective to any trolls that try to defame Sylhet with one incident. When i say independent economy, i mean that it is not dependent on other districts. Sylhet has BD's 3rd largest economy. The tea gardens, the remittances, the agriculture are local Sylheti enterprise. We are proud to be a contributor to the nations economy.

Time for Sylhetis to claim a separate country for Sylheti people!

Lol, very subtle! But I know exactly which bit we should claim for ourselves - its called 'Shillong'
