A political solution for Kashmir and lasting peace for India and Pakistan

Yeah I'm not talking about it as a practice institutionalised.

But it's more common in smaller communities like ours.

However, it's not new to us. And it comes from our ancient Persian roots.

It was neither uncommon with the Greeks or the Egyptians.

It's a cultural thing.

For a Hindu he will recoil in horror because for him it's equal to making love to his sister.

Cousin marriages are fine.

Very common in Zoroastrians as well. Both Parsi and Iroon.

I never have any imagination marrying our own cousin, it will be a strange marriage. In term of Parsi community in India, maybe because they want to have pure Parsi blood descend and retain the blood line.

That too. Plus there is no religious or social taboo.

Old aunties in fact joke that it's the best way to keep the wealth in the family.

It's usually restricted to second cousins. But first cousin marriages happen.

In Pakistan also, the fashion is decreasing as people learn the harms of cousin marriages. For some who want to preserve their zat or family lineage, they now seek distant cousins.

In many Pakistani dramas, it's still shown actively.

In some South Indian states women marry their uncle ( mother's brother ).
North Indians will puke on this.

Yes. @Naofumi did clarify it was a predominantly north Indian thing.

@Salahuddin Ayyubi am sure would know of some very commonly quoted papers on South Indian endogamy. Both Hindus and Muslims.
North Indian Muslims, do it too though I am not sure of the rate but it's highest in castes like Sayyids.

The security lockdown of last year, lasting nine months, seems to have ended but like @padamchen indicated, that lockdown has now continued into the Corona-related lockdown.

Well, I truly cannot imagine. As one clue to us, I read somewhere that a newspaper publisher went every morning to the printing press to print a one-sheet newspaper and then sold it. The paper was sold out by 7 AM I think.

For food and related things, I truly cannot imagine.

I think Kashmir issue should be discussed in OIC if the lockdown still continue. I cant imagine the suffering of Kashmiri getting 9 months lockdown. My cousin just went there right before the lockdown happened and the situation was under control, lockdown is unnecessary and more look like punishment rather than keeping an order.

You haven yet answered my second question bro....

It makes little difference until influential Arab states join the party too, which till this point seems unlikely.
Mother's cousin or real brother?
Mama and Bhanji.

A political solution for Kashmir and lasting peace for India and Pakistan

India and Pakistan need to settle the long, sad

First you said this ^^

3. Convert the LoC into an International Border that is accessible for trade, tourism and family visits.
Then you said this ^^

So I'm not sure if you trolling with Pakistanis here or what.

You have proven yourself Bharti loyalist by posting Bharti nonsense in this post.

You mean all the sacrifices of Muslims from Pakistan and Kashmir should be p1$$3d upon and agree for loc as ib(long lasting Bharti demand)?

Not to mention the chaos which will engulf Pakistan after that(not even the most bhart lover Nawaz could do that, or the secular Zardari could, that will be end of their political career).

All this will make the separatists in India-administered Kashmir to understand that their desire to join Pakistan-administered Kashmir is unnecessary because both countries will have become the same, politically.

And why would Pakistan shun these freedom fighters? Very stupid suggestion tbh.

How about you pick a solution from the following,

1) status quo - meaning your Bharti occupier terrorists 9lakh keep getting hunted by Pakistan and Kashmir and your Bharti govt keep wasting resources.

2) Referendum - that was what nehru also promised and that is acceptable by Pakistan and Kashmir and even UNO.

3) Chenab Formula - India will get majority hindu areas while Pakistan get majority Muslim. Chenab river will form a natural border and anything west of Chenab goes to Pakistan while anything east goes to bhart.

So now you can decide.

Yes, it looked more like a punishment.

As far as the issue being discussed in a third party agency like OIC ( or the UNO ), the Indian Establishment has said that it will refuse third party involvement. But I hope someone from the Indian Establishment and Pakistani Establishment are reading this thread and seeing that there is another way to resolve it permanently.

You haven yet answered my second question bro....

Sorry. Am now answering it below.

Do you think India still want to get another half of Kashmir if Pakistan military getting much weaker due to let say it put more focus on economic development than military build up ?

dreamer11 posted this yesterday :

But Indos, I don't think the Indian military and the Establishment will go down that route as it will definitely involve nuclear exchange, even if localized to the Greater Kashmir region ( both sides of the LoC border ).

Secondly, as for the Pakistani military accepting to put more national focus on overall economic development of the country instead of just military development I will ask the Pakistani member @RealNapster about his opinion.
