Let's not go off topic. Can you deny that mixing Islam with State is the root cause of Pakistan's present day troubles?

Because the evidence that is clearly present before us proves that mixing Islam with State is the root cause of Pakistan's present day troubles.

Yet we have this urge to blame religion and if you ask for logic we are pointed to the Mullah system. Explain to me while cursing the many evils of the madrassahs

• how many students have they helped
• how many orphans have they provided shelter to
• how many have they fed

It is very easy to criticize the evils but no one can list the goods
IF you want to list the evils in this country

• none of the gang war in Karachi was caused by religion,
• the breaking of Pakistan into two was not caused by religion,
• the lack of dams was not caused by religion
• the lack of land reforms was not caused by religion
• the lack of power generation was not caused by religion

I could go on and on but some here just want to blame Islam for everything wrong with the system and there is nothing one can do about it... 3 posts were full of questions none of which were answered other then say Islam is at fault

now answer logically. and do not come up with one liners. Also that article had importance read it and see what caused extremist ideologies to set in.

Those are mere excuses. Why do you think the system of the country has backfired, there is no impartial judicial or police system and there is no policy, either foreign or internal?

The real reasons are that everyone has realized that religion makes for the perfect tool to do every kind of abuse and yet be covered by the law. The Army kills in religion's name. The government loots in religion's name. The people do tax evasion and theft in religion's name. That is what they ALL do, while claiming all sorts of excuses like you describe.

After all, the end results clearly show what rotten foundations this crumbling edifice has - the fatal intermixing of religion and state.

So any religious party in Pakistan promises reforms then people should not have problem with them coming in power.

Islam in Pakistan is just limited to political gains, silly slogans, and in most cases for personal gains and interests only. From media Mullahs to a Chay wala everybody refers to Islam to prove and promote their personal vendetta only.


If you observe the practical application of Islam in normal daily life Pakistanis you will find a handful of Pious Pakistanis who understand the true spirit of Islam and fear ALLAH. For rest Islam matters if it they have to prove something wrong

Since the government is beyond repair and the vultures still dominate the political landscape, the only hope is for the media to raise public awareness. But the media, as I wrote, has utterly failed in its duty to the nation.

This also highlights another bad trait of our society, anybody will talk big but when he has the opportunity and power to make things better, he will turn it into abuse of that power and opportunity for personal gain. Look how media today can influence and motivate people in Pakistan, but what you will see is them being biggest contributors of frustration and depression to the society. Hardly any channel will do programs to educate people about civic sense and how to behave as a responsible citizen in society, but they have regular programs featuring crime reports and rape cases.


Why cannot we have one single law and code for everything just one big book? I have seen volumes of useless laws for different things but zero application of those laws. And then process to change any of these laws is lengthy and incompetent. Recent example is look at big fuss about legalizing Military courts.

Step back---take a breather and don't take it personal---. Take it just like another hit---. Learn to diffuse your anger and try to look beyond what is being stated---for what may look shocking on the surface for the first time read may not be as damaging when looked at with calmer nerves.

Pakistan is not the only country with in the 3rd world with a low Tax-to-GDP ratio....
If tomorrow even if role of religion is completely removed from the affairs of the state this problem of bad governance will still exist.....corruption will still be here so will tax evasion
Your over simplification of Pakistan's problems almost makes you sound like those Jamaat Islami types who claimed that the issue of terrorism will be solved if we just changed our foreign policy

It is not power---it is INCOMPETENCE----you have nothing to show for---. But you should be ashamed of writing those comments.

Write something kid----write something of substance---write something and lead by example and show that you deserved the job---arse kissing and nepotism can get you the job but cant wipe the shame off the face when one looks into the mirror if one has any bit of conscience left.

Pakistan was made on this basis. It will always remain so. You are an American who stays in America. It is your wish to learn about armies out of control i would advice you to look at the actions of the US army. Or the CIA. Or look at laws like the 3 strike law.

You are in error---Pakistan was not made for Islam----but Pakistan was made for muslims who may not be crushed under the weight of the massive numbers of hindus.

Independence , freedom to chose, job opportunities, independent business opportunities, freedom to live freely without any prejudice, opportunities for education and pursuit of happiness without the fear of religious bigotry, freedom to live without the fear of being ruled by a different group of people----that was what the creation of Pakistan was----.

The 3 strike law---as ruthless and as brutal as it is-----has put the fear of God in the criminals like never before----.

Pakistan was made for Muslims ie for Human beings following Islam

It was not made FOR Islam

The clergy and the military has made it into a LABORATORY for Islam
