A 'Crash Landing': The Slow and Painful Death of India's Air Force

Pictures speak a thousand words......................Don't really believe in prestitutes.

Those presstitutes are more informed than trollbots like you. And stop putting up fake photoshop pictures which have no basis in reality.

Those are Mirage 2000 you dumb dumb :hitwall::hitwall:

Tejas lacks air-to-air refuelling
Tejas cannot fire BVR range missiles
These capabilities are being added as we speak and are part of the FOC specifications the LCA must meet by March 2016.

Tejas does not have AESA radar
It is being worked on- AESA radar is still the exception and not the rule for even the most advanced 4th gen fighters in service today. The majority of USAF fighters are without AESA, the EFT has no operational AESA nor does the SAAB Gripen.

The LCA Mk.1P/A/+ will have an AESA and will be ready to enter service from 2017-

Tejas does not have electronic warfare suit

Being worked on.

Tejas cockpit cannot defend against 7.62x51 caliber bullets for f***s sake!!
When will the LCA be exposed to small arms fire to require such ballistic protection? I didn't realise the LCA had somehow become a tank.

Tejas has a limited operational range of 400-500 km which is practically useless

The ADA has never released the official range of the LCA.

Tejas airframe is unsuitable for future upgrades because of size and space constraints

Utter BS.

Let them add first.

But other fourth gen fighters can fire BVR missiles. Tejas radar is too poor to guide long range missiles.

Being worked on.

"Being worked on" wow.....

When will the LCA be exposed to small arms fire to require such ballistic protection? I didn't realise the LCA had somehow become a tank.

Shows your ignorance.

Aircraft carry cannon with them, maybe you never knew this. The standard is 30mm cannon but some aircraft carry 23mm. Modern AAA still use dual 30 mm cannon. If an aircraft cannot even defend itself against 7.62 mm caliber bullets how is it going to defend against 30 mm cannon?

Or are you suffering from the delusion that enemy aircraft will not target Tejas cockpit?

The ADA has never released the official range of the LCA.

LOL!! Get real. How much fuel can that tiny aircraft carry?

Utter BS.

Then why was Mk2 upgrade scrapped? How are you going to fit in a bigger radar or make that sh1tty thing carry more internal fuel without expanding the aircraft?

The tragedy of PDF is majority of Indians here are too much of fanboys to see the truth.

still a wrong picture.

There was never such an issue that the radar was not capable of guiding missiles at all but that the radome was limiting the range but this has been addressed by a Quartz crystal radome that has been delivered and is being integrated onto the LCA as we speak.

If you are in a WVR fight with an enemy and they are using cannons you have already failed. How often do you think this is going to happen in modern warfare? Do you think any other aircraft out there (aside from he A-10) can handle multiple hits from a 30mm AA gun or cannon of another fighter? Do you think it makes any difference if the cockpit is armoured or not? All the AA guns/cannon has to hit is a fuel tank, wing or control surface and you are a goner.....

This isn't WW2, fighters aren't designed to withstand such damage.

LOL!! Get real. How much fuel can that tiny aircraft carry?
It's a point defence fighter- nothing more, when did it suddenly start getting measured adjacent deep strike aircraft?

Then why was Mk2 upgrade scrapped? How are you going to fit in a bigger radar or make that sh1tty thing carry more internal fuel without expanding the aircraft?

Umm, when was the MK.2 scrapped?

still a wrong picture.
How is that thew wrong picture? Did you not say the LCA didn't have a IFR probe? What is that? A LCA, and what is that attached to it? An IFR probe.

Another troll in the house.

I mentioned 7 shortcomings.

Here u go troll, your piece of sh*t Tejas with EW suite.

Its been tested on PV1 back in January 2015.

India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) built advanced electronic warfare (EW) suite has completed its first flight onboard the Tejas-PV1 light combat aircraft (LCA) in Bengaluru.

The equipment successfully detected radar signals operating in and around the flight path during the test, which was undertaken after the receipt of due flight clearances and certification.

Built by DRDO's Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE) laboratory, the EW suite features a radar warner and jammer, and provides the pilot with an additional capability to nullify the effect of detected radar threat by appropriate mode of jamming.

DRDO director general, Department of Defence R&D secretary and Indian Defence Minister scientific advisor Dr Avinash Chander said: "This warfare suite adds an important capability to our LCA".

"LCA is the first fighter aircraft of India fitted with a radar warner and jammer equipment."
DARE OS and director J Manjula, said: "LCA is the first fighter aircraft of India fitted with a radar warner and jammer equipment with capability for both radar warning and jamming using a unified EW technology.

"Over the coming few months, ADA and DARE will be scheduling further sorties to evaluate the system in various signal scenarios."

The existing EW systems installed on various combat aircraft provide warning to the aircraft pilot in case of detection of a radar threat.

Tejas is jointly manufactured by a consortium of five organisations pooled by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Aeronautical Development Agency. It is a single-seat, lightweight, high-agility supersonic fighter aircraft designed to replace the Indian Air Force's (IAF) ageing fleet of MiG 21 and MiG 23 aircraft.

The aircraft is also ordered by the Indian navy. It features eight external hardpoints to carry stores, with three under each wing and a tailless compound delta platform, and can be armed with air-to-air, air-to-ground, and anti-ship missiles, precision-guided munitions, rockets and bombs.

LCA is the way to go. I like the approach Parikar is taking. The whole MK1A is his idea and it will see the light.

In event of war break out India still packs a lot of punch with Sukhoi and Mirage..so this article is rubbish....

SOrry .Paid news not going to work anymore .
And if someone paid to this author .He should at least maintain some basic knowledge in basic things.

Nope..our Mirages and Sukhois are still crashing Right,Middle and Left as we speak. We're so feeble and so weak. :D

YEP GREAT ATICLE AGAIN

INDIAN AIR FORCE WILL CRUMBLE INFRONT OF THE PAF 76 + 8 new F16s & its 49 JF17

220 su30mki with pesa radar TVC engines HMS and ARCHER missles will simply kneel

THE 51 mirage2000 with mica missles and is $2 billion upgrafe programme of new HMD new radara new jammers amd 450 mica BVRs was a waste of time.

And 120 mig29k AND mig29smt of the navy & airforce combined despite being either brand new or just refurbished will just bow to PAF.

GET REAL PEOPLE INDIA HAS 450 4th generation fighters today

Nope..our Mirages and Sukhois are still crashing Right,Middle and Left as we speak. We're so feeble and so weak. :D

Can't see the pictures up posted bro. Can u repost it?

Is being integrated, will be integrated.... again going into future tense when the present is already pretty messed up.

If you are in a WVR fight with an enemy and they are using cannons you have already failed. How often do you think this is going to happen in modern warfare?

Then why are cannons installed on modern fighter aircraft, for the aesthetics? Why do modern aircraft still carry WVR range missiles with them?

This stupid logic was used in Vietnam war by USA when they decided to abandon the cannon and go for missiles. Rest is history as the Vietnamese swatted down US aircraft like flies.

Do you think it makes any difference if the cockpit is armoured or not? All the AA guns/cannon has to hit is a fuel tank, wing or control surface and you are a goner.....

I sincerely hope you are a Tejas fanboy and hence typing these nonsense. Because if you sincerely believe what you are posting then you need help.

This isn't WW2, fighters aren't designed to withstand such damage.

HAL cannot design an aircraft which can sustain damage.

airplane-flying-with-one-wing-image10.jpg

That is an F-15 flying with one wing and that is not a fake photo.

It's a point defence fighter- nothing more, when did it suddenly start getting measured adjacent deep strike aircraft?

Even a point defence aircraft need to stay afloat in the air for a reasonable amount of time.

Umm, when was the MK.2 scrapped?

And I thought you were among the more mature Indian posters here.

In a significant move, the IAF has scrapped the plan to develop an upgraded version of LCA “Tejas” and will settle for six squadrons of the existing aircraft with certain improvements — better radar, new electronic warfare suit, refueling capacity and improved missiles — in the existing form.

Home-built Tejas to fill critical shortage of fighter jets  | Daily Mail Online

How is that thew wrong picture? Did you not say the LCA didn't have a IFR probe? What is that? A LCA, and what is that attached to it? An IFR probe.

It could well be a prank put up in some garage. A mere appendage does not prove an aircraft is capable of mid-air refueling. Show a video or at least a photograph of LCA (not Mirage 2000) undergoing refueling.

P.S. - Not surprised to see that only an Indian TTA would think of giving a positive rating to your post which is full of errors. Talk about blind prejudice!!

Here u go troll, your piece of sh*t Tejas with EW suite.

You can't tell the difference between LCA and Mirage 2000 and now you become the expert on EW suite? The current EW suite on LCA is a piece of sh1t. I can't keep posting the same links again and again. Go and look up on my previous posts.
