Modest clothing and little to no makeup.

No, you spoke about her making herself 'attractive', that's a no-no. She can make herself presentable, but she is not to dress herself up in a way that attracts the attention of the opposite sex.

Bro, Do you understand the meanings of Illa Ma Yuzhira?

And what should they wear when they go outside?

It is mandatory to offer salat but govt cannot flog people for not offering it since it is a matter of worship. Same goes for hijab but if someone drinks or commits adultery, there are clear instructions called hadood and those have to be implemented.
Try that in your country of residence first

Haha we remember the adultery concerns women got flogged in Swat over it before the taliban took over lets not go back shall we :D

This thread is interesting in the sense that men are sitting around discussing women's modesty and pretending like they have a say so in it while also surfing p0rn at night.

Discussing women's choice of dress while there is no woman around ( as far as I can tell - I could be wrong).

It's a woman's body, it's her choice (per her religious beliefs whatever that is) and I think we men should be man enough to honor that (yes even if she dresses like a whore). It's the job of women collectively to decide their dress standards, whatever level of modesty that is.

Avert your eyes men. Doesn't it say that in the Qur'an too? End of story.

The day when men could decide what women could or could not wear is drawing to a fast close.

Unless you live in a medieval throwback of a country.

People wanting Shariah law can Shift to Saudi Arabia or Iran if they like. Pakistan was never an Islamic state in that sense. You won't be seeing women in large numbers with Hijabs in Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi anytime soon.

Everything is a choice at the end of the day, but I certainly wouldn't mind enforcing laws making the Hijab mandatory for Muslim women, like they do in Saudi Arabia.

@Zibago @Bilal9

Frankly, dsr478's case is of being more Saudi than the Saudiz themselves.

Some days ago came this from Saudia :
A senior Saudi cleric has said that women should not be required to wear abayas during his Friday television program.

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, argued that the long loose-fitting robe that the kingdom currently requires women to wear in public is unnecessary to preserve modesty.

“More than 90 percent of pious Muslim women in the Muslim world do not wear abayas,” Sheikh Al-Mutlaq said, according to The National.

“So we should not force people to wear abayas.”

Also, a few years ago, one Saudi princess spoke about abolishing the burqa ( they call it abaya, I think ) because she said that this costume was a cultural thing not required in religion.

@Jf Thunder , I will continue later our convo from page 1.

Listen my mullah bradaram, as a woman I don't take this crap you're trying to preach here .

God told us to dress modest , both men nd women didn't he ? It's enough for us all , prophet saww didn't go to all places imposing burkas nd taunting women all the time , he prefered his most time correcting the character of his male fellows . You as a man do the same nd go preach your burkah nd haya sharam to pakistani men , go impose the Holy law of lowering the gaze on men . Leave the duty of correcting the characters of women to women folk nd women preachers .
What God comanded is heard by every women , nd now it's on women nd its her test how much she is obeying it . Who r u to interfere in between the test nd ordering us to dress as u like nd don't use make up ?

U think imposing banns on women will improve everything ? Eh yeah .. will it stop the child rapes ? Have u seen iran ? Have u seen their private dressings in parties nd homes ... its completely like those of western women .. only that they wear burkas outside cause they feel repressed nd due to this repression , they're slowly hating the religion of Islam , that is why the atheistic views are getting popular in Iran .

So yeah , kep your imposing nd bans in your own homes ,

. Never ever in history of shariah nd islamic governments of caliphs , a caliph started imposing this nd that women . Unless you're a father or you're a husband , you got no right to tell a woman to dress in burkas nd don't use makeup .

Never come in between test of Allah he takes , it's personal matter of Allah nd her .

Sharab peene wala b Allah ka banda ha , ek nek zaahid b usi ka banda ha , paarsa ibadat guzar b Allah ki bandi ha or naachny wali tawaaif bhi . Kisi ko Allah ne Is haq se mehroom na kia bus bat hidayat ki ha k khuda jis ko chahe de or jis ko chahe mehroom rakhy .. tum Allah or us k bandon k maamlat k beech me na paro.

I'm never going to allow my country become like this cause of u people ..

Sorry , if u find it offensive but I got no tolerance for every tom , dick nd harry coming to impose this nd that ban on us . We're equal humans nd equal muslims , leave us to God nd go care about ur character .

pakistan only think about millions

The thing is that, even though those actions were taken, the cancer is still spreading, specially due to our religious political parties. I personally know many families in which the mothers do not wear that abomination, but the daughters do because some religious nut jobs told them they would go to hell if they dont, and surprisingly they tell their mothers that they should wear it too, otherwise they (mothers) would go to hell too.

In my university, there are not many groups like these, at least I dont know of any, and whenever I try to speak up I remember what happened to Mashal Khan. Once I got an open threat from my group member when he said "you will end up like that boy Mashal". I do try to follow International Organizations such as the "Muslim Reform Movement". If you have not already, listen to Asra Nomani, she speaks well.

The thing these type of liberal movements lack, is that they do not use religion. They should also base their arguments on religion, they should use it as a base like the religious parties do. That is why no one listens to the liberals, they label them anti-religion. I have found many references from the Quran and Hadith which do not mandate the Hijab/Niqab etc. But the liberals do not use them. They should
You have no right to talk big ... if you get scared by a threat..

Grow a pair... Ive studied in both private institutions (where liberalism is fashion) and at Govt univs (where Jamiat ruled)... never compromised pn my principals...

My roommate in PU was a shia who was scared of jamiat and didnt have the balls to listen to Noha’s infront of Jamatis .. I played em at max volume.

People didnt speak about blasphemy laws.. I fukin did.. and more..

Why ? Coz everybody knew.. I play rough.
