A Bold Case for Modesty: Is Pakistan Benefiting from the Multi Billion Dollar Modest Fashion Industr

Hijab=choice
Niqab=choice
End of story

Everything is a choice at the end of the day, but I certainly wouldn't mind enforcing laws making the Hijab mandatory for Muslim women, like they do in Saudi Arabia.

Everything is not a "choice" per say in Islam, if you neglect or go against direct commandments it's downright transgression! An example of a choice is niqab, not hijab.

[al-Noor 24:31] and countless authentic traditions from any school of thought are more than enough for anyone sincere.

Hijab = Mandatory

Asalamu Alaikum

They are not prizes to be paraded around. Clothes should be modelled using statues (that do not have any facial features).
Wa Alykum Salam,

Well, I'm not saying them to wear these dresses and parade in the streets but those are for their own family...to walk around in nice dress inside home or when they go to see relatives..nice and decent that does not compromise on modesty while still being graceful and attractive..

You got to your own grave leave the judging to god

That's a very cliché comeback for the liberals, especially vis-a-vis any contention revolving around religious matter :) I used to use it quite often too when I was a teenager. However in the scope of a meaningful discussion or argument it holds no value.

Just answer me this, as per the religious texts and scripture, is Salah a choice? Is consumption of alcohol a matter of choice? What does the Quran say about the people who go against explicit directives (mentioned in the Quran as well) of God?

For mahrams ONLY.

They shouldn't cake themselves in front of non-mahrams, no matter how modestly they dress.

Yes and yes.

The 4 Imams, Ibn Qayim, Ibn Taymiyyah, Al Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Kathir, Al Tabari, Ibn Baz, and most of all, Rasulullah (Peace Be Upon Him) all said this.

Not a single reputable Islamic figure says that the Hijab is not mandatory. You cannot come in with your brand new interpretation and say that everyone else is wrong. These people have spent more time learning Islam than you have probably even been alive.

As for jamahir, I don't really care about his input on Islam since he openly denies parts of the Quran.

Do not attribute something to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that he did not say, and you cannot prove, for it is a great sin.

Yes it is you dont shoot people or flog them for not saying prayers they will be answerable for it in their graves

Prove me wrong then. Find one reputable scholar saying the Hijab is not mandatory.

The right to wear hijab is as important as right not to you cant ask for one and deny the other

I would like to add, none of the Imams from the family of Prophet Mohammed(PBUT), or the companions or the Shia scholars (classical, contemporary, or modern day) from the Shia school of thought condone any such nonsense when it comes to Hijab. Even the Imams of the Sunni school of thought, Imam Malik, Imam Shafie, Imam Hanaf and Imam Hanbal are the same page when it comes to Hijab.

There are punishments in Sharia for these crimes, that are to be applied in any country ruled by Muslims (meaning Pakistan).

Not applying these rules makes Pakistan's creation meaningless, we were born to be an Islamic state as Jinnah and Iqbal envisioned, not a secular state.

It being mandatory or not has nothing to do with state enforcing it

Watch us.

Pakistanis are getting more and more Islamic day by day. The days of secularism in our beloved country are numbered.

It being mandatory or not has nothing to do with state enforcing it

The state is to enforce Islamic law upon Muslims to the best of it's ability.
