42 top tank fleets based on quality and quantity

@500 like this ?
m60tsv101424ky5.jpg

Anyway will you do 2020s estimation ?

.
Ranking does not take crew quality, command, logistic, air support and other factors. I think with equal crews and other factors 4800+ Syrian tanks would simply flood 1300 Israeli tanks. Anyhow Syria tank fleet is halved now. So top 10 should be:
What is the point of making top 10 if it doesn't reflect the reality?

This makes more sense imho:
Tank Strength by Country

But someone needs to take in account quality/quantity ratio to make a real top 10.

Global power is total joke, their numbers are not accurate at all and they also dont count the quality factor which is very decisive.

As I mentioned in another thread according to GP North Korea has stronger submarine fleet than US

I think a thread making more sense would be:
-best land army
-best naval army
-best air army

If you just count tanks of the countries, it doesn't make sense if another country has different kind of army. Maybe it has more attack helicopters with anti-tank missiles.

. .
This one doesn't produce good results, @500

Syria ranked higher than Israel, Pakistan, and Turkey when it comes to armored strength (tanks)? That is obviously not the case. Syrians just have T-72s, which will be blown to pieces by modern tanks like Merkava IV, Al Khalid-1, or Turkish Leopard A4...

Also, you assigned Al Khalid/T-80UD 5.5 points...which I know is a typo. Correct that too.
Syria sucks when it comes to Tanks they have jokes in the name of Tanks @500 what were you thinking before placing Syria among top ten @Aeronaut

I dont think its better. Al Khalid is derived from Type-88 (on pic) which is derived from T-55.

type88_8.jpg

T-90 is derived from T-72 like Type-98. They are more advanced tanks.

Anyway you are free to put any rank u wish and calculate urself its easy.

Why not?

I used data from the IISS Military Balance 2013. There is no Al Zarrar. I would rank it 0.6

According to this article 500 Al Zarrar were built:

Pakistan and China to jointly market Al Khalid tank | defenceWeb

With 330 Al Khalid and 500 Al Zarrar the rank will be 1342.
Lady we also have around few hundren T-85 and also around 320 T-80 which are upgraded to almost level of T-84

But land, navy and air also strongly interact. :)

Overall the tank fleet reflects very well the land army strength. You are welcome to rank the army if u know how to do.

Syria has a HUGE tank fleet and quality of their tanks is not so bad. T-72 is decent tank even today, many older tanks are equipped with ERA.

Excellent post. @Azlan Haider @Aeronaut @Oscar - Pls check this.

So how many tanks does Bangladesh have anyway? @BDforever
In any case, how advanced or equipped are the logistics and engineer corp of the Bangladesh Armored Corps? Without top class engineering tanks be practically unusable in marshy terrain.

.
@500

Should export version of M1A2 in Egypt's Army be rated same as that of M1A2 in US Army. Afterall their Power plant and Armour is different.
