MIRANSHAH: At least four soldiers were killed and 25 wounded when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a military checkpoint in Pakistan's troubled northwest on Wednesday, security officials said.

The attack came in the Mir Ali area of Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, a hub for Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked militants on the Afghan border.

“Four security officials embraced shahadat (martyrdom) and 25 were wounded when a suicide bomber hit his explosive-laden car into the mosque of Khajori checkpoint, some three kilometres east of Miranshah,” a security official told AFP.

“The soldiers were offering prayers at the time of the blast,” the official said.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The umbrella Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan faction and al-Qaeda linked militants have led a bloody campaign against the Pakistani state in recent years, carrying out hundreds of attacks on security forces and government targets, concentrated largely in the northwest.

that was meant to be an open invitation for an easy attack.
I have no problem with offering prayers and growing beards .. but in the time of war with an enemy, it is better that the prayers are not offered in different times and individually and the sentries watch out for opportunist attack.

this enemy has no morality known to a civilised world. so thinking that it will honour the prayers is a big folly. the same enemy that tosses children in the River Kabul few miles away and rapes and kills their mothers because of their "wrong" sect will respect prayers to Allah?

if they dont want to die in vain then please reconsider how they conduct themselves during war.

thanks my dear, we should exchange notes so that we dont blame each other for our own skeletons in the closet.
we have countless videos of our own Muslims beheading our soldiers, executing civilians by the roadsides and openly claiming who they are, we recognize them well but our pious Muslim apologetics think that burning American flags is the right response.

Its good that that I am not an Indian. I would have played these dumb fcks mad and made them fight each other and they would have killed themselves while shouting death to India & America.

Incidents like these prove the need for shared cooperation between our forces. We’ve already lost thousands of brave soldiers on both sides of the border. It is safe to say that the terrorists are not leaving any stone unturned in their bid to destabilize the region with their acts of terror. It is simply imperative for us to combine our strength against the enemies of peace. We share a common stance against terrorism and wish to see peace prevail throughout the region. The terrorists would obviously love to see remain tangled in our differences for the sake of pushing their deadly agenda forward. It is ultimately up to us to realize the importance of working together for the betterment of the region.

I hope this incident motivates the PA to set forth a plan to eliminate this scourge once and for all.
