2 Air Force personnel including a squadron leader killed, 2 others injured in road accident in Awantipora

Srinagar: Two air force officers have been killed while two others have suffered injuries in a road accident in south Kashmir’s Awantipora area of Pulwama district in the wee hours of Thursday. The slain include a squadron leader.

Confirming the accident, a senior police official said that the accident occurred al Malangpora outside air force station at around 3 am. The identity of the slain could not be ascertained immediately.

It may well be a Su-30 pilot, as @Maarkhoor said, that one sikh pilot was arrested at 27 Feb, he was injured and died in CMH, this may well be the second pilot, most probably Indians are showing his death in a road accident.

If I was to throw a conspiracy theory around then, one pilot is with us, one landed that side, third pilot is from the third bogie we shot shot....we are not sure what was the third hit.....it was bogie.....

Sources told WION that IAF personnel were travelling in a Scorpio car when it hit a pillar adding that one among the deceased was a Squadron leader.

IAF has an operational base in Awantipora. The Air Force will conduct an inquiry.
