Rs. 193000 crore, an increase of Rs. 10k crore ---> 203000 crore.

But if there was a Rs. 14k crore cut last year i.e. Rs. 179000 crore were spent, so a HUGE increase of Rs. 24k crore from revised estimates.

This is what i sincerely hope for. Nasty bureaucracy and desk pilots screw screw with every acquisition/commissioning program. I hope this time the army can make full use of the funds allocated.

@Chinese-Dragon, the talks of the BUDGET CUTS were w.r.t the fiscal 2012-13 & not 2013-14.

I think for fiscal 2012-13 there was a cut of Rs. 14k crore or around $2 billion.

So about 43 percent of the entire defence budget is going to be spent on capital acquisition. That is awesome news. That means we will see all the modernization happening. MRCA, arty etc have to be done this year. Not to mention restocking ammo, air defence etc.

I don't expect it now from them. These days there is a Wind of Change going on there.

Thats because the Rupees devaluated by 15-20%

Need to look into actual provisions being made for Capital expenditure. This would give the most correct indication of progress on Rafale Deal.
