1 in 3 people owns private cars, Xinjiang Urumqi tops the Chinese cities' traffic congestion chart, millions of cars are straining Urumqi's road system, appeals and proposals for restricting the number of cars for Urumqi are raised on the Chinese social media.

2020年乌鲁木齐车辆保有量达到100多万辆，而乌鲁木齐人口只有300多万，也就说乌鲁木齐3个人中就拥有一辆车，而且这个数据还在递增，以后车辆保有量会越来越多。从这个数据可以看出，乌鲁木齐为什么经常堵车，因为车辆越来越多了。

True, even more so for finding a parking space and paying the crazy parking fees especially if you go to downtown area. that's why I rarely drive in the city, subway and shared bikes are more way cheaper and convenient.

Urumqi road system needs some improvement and the city should be more spread out like what Beijing did to ease the traffic
