    Sheikh Mujib brutality

In 1970, BD (then east Pakistan) vs. west Pakistan was 33.7% vs 64.3% of the total Pakistani GDP. In 2014, it has risen to 40% vs 60% of the combined GDP. I think, our rising economy is great considering how much of BD's export earned capitals were systematically stolen by the west for a long 23...

BNP wants to build good ties with BJP, sends Puja invite

BNP gesture s only a lip service and it s beating about the bush. It does not want to disassociate from Jamaat. I have not seen any such sign. .

Bangladesh has started upgrading Type-59 tank locally

I wonder why only 300 upgraded type-59G should jitter the confidence of Indians when the have type-96 in huge quantity? So, @BDforever the number of MBTs will rise to 988 units including 44 MBT-2000 after the upgrading. Am I almost correct? Any more plan to upgrade some other tanks?

Bangladesh has started upgrading Type-59 tank locally

@BDforever, below is an excerpt from your own post in another thread. My question is, if the current upgrading is not written there. If not, can I assume that all these 300 units of type-59s are being newly bought from China and upgraded in BD? Actual figure: MBT-2000 Main battle tank 44 Type...

Bangladesh has started upgrading Type-59 tank locally

This is a video that I found in the Internet. It says 300 type-59 tanks will be upgraded to type-59G. Type 59G A heavily redesigned modernized variant approaching 3rd-generation standards with a new welded turret similar to the Type 96G replacing the original cast turret, new arrow shaped...

Bangladesh has started upgrading Type-59 tank locally

Indian army will not be allowed to mass all its tanks in BD front in times of emergency, because it cannot afford to lax its combat readiness in other fronts.. So it is wise not to bet on Indian number.

    Bangladesh Air Force

Contrary to what people believe, BVR may not be that functional specially when it is short range dog fights. Even from a long range attack BVR missiles may not kill the enemy plane if its pilot is well trained on how to evade it. However, all the countries seek BVR capable planes.

Japan competes w/ China in Bangladesh

Japan is a very rich country, its people and govt both are rich. Japanese company executives do not have to discard any of the elements of their good life in Japan and SE Asia to come to an unclean country like BD just to earn a few extra bucks, except for temporary missions. Today, Japan buys...

Japan competes w/ China in Bangladesh

This land belongs to the GoB, and not the GoJ. If Japan builds a power plant there it will be operated by BD beause the GoJ is not the owner. It never never operates even its own country's power plants. I am talking about investment by the Japanese private companies. Their (almost) last...

Japan competes w/ China in Bangladesh

You are talking about power plant construction. I talked about whether the Japanese private companies will find any incentives in a 3rd world muslim country to invest. Note, there is not even a single Japanese airline company that serves BD. It goes to India, but not BD. It has some meaning.

Japan competes w/ China in Bangladesh

    1) When a poor country borrows $7b and spends it to build a deep seaport, it must get the money back with interest. How it is possible to get the money back when the proposed seaport cannot serve the largest market in the region, Yunnan? BD market is too small to get any dividend. 2) BD has...

How Awami League handed over South Talpatti to India

There is no Talpatti Island any more, it is under the deep sea. BD would have lost a few thousand sq. Km. of sea territory if it still existed. Because it was supposed to be recognized as Indian territory by the UN. India claimed this island long before it was even known by BD. Inventor like...

Bangladesh lost in sea dispute with India: BNP

BNP stance on verdict on the sea territory is baseless and is a political propaganda. I think, it is all win for both the countries specially the verdict has opened a new era for exploiting mineral resources by BD. Post #16 above sent by GRIFFIN is an eye opener fr the critic. In reality, BD...

Japan competes w/ China in Bangladesh

The whole purpose of building the Sonadia Deep Seaport is quite different from just building new terminals in Ctg. port. In the Ctg. Port 250,000t large mother vessels cannot enter because of shallow draft there. There are two nearby deep sea ports where the mother vessels anchor, cargoes for BD...
