Iqbal and Watan-parasti

Allama Iqbal was against Watan-Parasti (practiced by Pakistani nationalists and ultra-nationalists) . I came across this poem of Allam Iqbal in Bang-i-dara

Some of the couplets of this poems are;

Translation (its my own): The greatest new among the new gods (that human worship) is Watan.....its clothing is the death sentence of religion

This idol (Watan) is product of modern age and it ruins the structure of Deen of Holy Prophet

Your arm strength is Tauheed, Islam is your country, you are a Mustafwi

O follower of Mustafa, show the old picture (of Islam) to the world and destroy this idol (of Watan)

In Political study, Watan is some thing else, In Prophet's sayings, Watan is some thing else

Tum Sabhi Kuch Ho, Batao To Musalman Bhi Ho!

You are known as Syed, and Mughal, you call yourselves Pathan;
But can you truly claim as well the name of Mussalman?

The idea was to evolve beyond nations and races and ethnicities which divide us and enter the fold of brotherhood which is Muslim where no one is superior and no one is inferior.

Does this also apply to Pukhtoon nationalists as well? Or just Pakistani ones only?
