Myanmar in advanced negotiations with Pakistan to licence-build JF-17 fighter

So here are the power dynamics in Myanmar. The military overthrew the government of Aun San Suu Kyi's father and she went through a huge trial before the military softened up a bit. She is married to a British guy and has very, very deep links with Britain.

Even after return to a semblance of civilian rule, I think the mutual mistrust and tension between military and civilians runs high. Suu Kyi holds popular support amongst the common people who are the ones killing Muslims, with military playing a criminal role.

The JF-17 represents strengthening military to military ties and can be a cause for increasing discontent against Pakistan among the common people.

My hope is that we can leverage the military ties to get increased protection for our Rohingyas brothers.

In terms of culture, world views, etc Aun San Suu Kyi fits like a custom ring on India's ring finger. Our chance is to weaken the democracy and strengthen the military. If we can form bases in Myanmar, or at least China can get based, that would be a HUGE plus for us. Myanmar can be India's Pakistan where common people support India but the minority population don't and a foreign propped military is agnostic. Now if Myanmar would start laying claims on parts of Eastern most India, it would be like Eid come early for us.

BTW, I am all for supplying old technology short range missiles to them as well. Plus POF ammunitions can earn us further foreign exchange as well.

And all of this is going to happen after just 16 JF-17s? :partay: :partay: :partay:

At best, GoP will promote people to people contact (Pakistan has wonderful historical Buddhist sites — Link) and improve trade relations between the two countries. We are not going get involved in their domestic politics.

In a cultural battle of winning non Muslim hearts against India, especially Buddhist hearts, you will ALWAYS lose. Culture these days constitutes nudity, vulgarity, fornication, bastardry, drunkenness, paganism, etc.

Selling 16 jets is merely the first step in military-military ties.

All those "ummah " "ummah" crying people on this thread must understand that pakistan is playing wisely , some points i get here is
>Increase presence and ally status with myanmar ; benefits at times of war and for UN maatters.
>I have personal feelings that by these dealings ,. pakistan is in talks with myanmar to end this rohingya madness. For that we have dealt wisely with myanmar in one way which i wont tell in open forum .
>Myanmar was a great help to our soldiers in 1971 evacuation so we must not let them go.
I respect your opinions but Myanmar is not the same country that it was in 1971. Another thing to consider is changing priorities of the countries. Selling planes to a country is one thing but building their aerospace industry from scratch is totally different. I don't think giving them a capability beyond servicing their planes is a good idea at the moment.

Our standard is much higher than 2 bit butthurt bharti troll and his moaning.
I just wish we can just ban all these trolls in one stroke.

To all the people that are screaming against dealing with Myanmar, i call you guys hypocrites. Europeans and Americans have killed the most muslims, yet we are very happy to deal with them. You guys also forget that Israel is a gift to Muslims by the British and USA (sarcasm), but you guys don't oppose and dealings with them.

Now saying that, i am not opposed to helping fellow muslims, but you can't help others if you have no coins in your pocket, or your own stomach is empty. So help your country first so that one day it is in a position to help others.

Hi,

There are over 4 1/2 million dead muslims and over 30 million homeless muslims since the U S invasion started its war on terror---and still Paf want the F16's---.

It's very obvious that the reason why MAF choosed JF17 is they are close with China and they don't have problem with Muslim. The conflict between Burmese and Rohinya was stirred up by the British colonizer, meant to contain each other. The induction of JF17 by MAF means they are still within China's sphere of influence. Good news for both BD and Pakistan, bad news for India.

British is the most despicable human race on this planet, I hate them as hell. Yesterday I visited Peking Yuan Ming Yuan Imperial Garden, which was burned down completely by the British invader back in year 1860. They burned hundreds of precious palace and resorts and plundered 1.5 millions piece of treasures together with the French army. **** them!

The tragedy of Rohinya is same method how British colonizer adopted to seperate Hindu and Muslim in the sub continent. They fielded different religious people against each other, that's how these west devil works.

brooo in 1971 myanmar played a role in evacuating our trapped soldiers from bangladesh...our goal is to surround india..myanmar is strategic need

I agree but license production is going too far. We worked hard to gain this kind of tech and giving another country the ability to start their own indigenous version just a few years after our own tech, isn't wise. These jobs are badly needed in Pakistan anyways.

Maybe just a factory for REPAIRING block-2 jets only but not producing them.

If India wants to stir trouble in Pakistan's sphere of influence (Afghanistan). Then we should return the favor by stirring trouble in India's sphere of influence (Bangladesh & Burma).

I think selling JF17 to MAF is fine, but shall not ToT JF17 to MAF. Selling only means Limited combat ability, ToT means manufacturing an uncontrolled rival.

As long as PAF doesn't agree to ToT, China won't do it. I also think China shall not ToT the JF17 to a politically unstable country like Burma.

China and Pakistan shall coordinate on this issue, and shows the same caliber.

Just look at the Chinese weapons BD and Myanmar have in their arsenal, they are far from friends of India. Unlike Pakistan, Myanmar is second tier friend of China. We shall have close eyes on them, to prevent future betray. I think BD is more a priority to China than Myanmar.
