The Tribune: Chinese Subs Permanently Sailing in Indian Ocean

You don't know your Injun from your Indian, mate. The citizens of the present political state known as Indian Republic which came into existence in 1947 consider the term 'India' as copyright. To them anything and ever that was or is called India is exclusively Indian. Hell they even think Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's daughter was named 'India' because some Indian semen was used in birthing her.

Thanks mate, this is genuine discovery. Will read this and go to add as 'ammunition' to be used against our Swamp Ganga friends across the Radcliffe Line.

Not only that, they believe any history of South Asia are part of Indian history. Their kids will subconsciously believe that Indian subcontinent all belong to India.

You must read Henry Kissenger memoirs...on East Pakistan..just using some free exerpts from Google books..i was able to completely destroyed Bengali nationalist in a debate...the fiasco of east Pakistan is not even understood in Pakistan...and the so called Humood ur Rehman report also relies on the same populist bias..and hence banned for good...reading Kissenger will take you to the early days of Mujeeb..he had always been a socialist nationalist...like Hitler...suffering from messanic syndrome..he planned and plotted the separation at-least ten years in advance and did everything to grab power for his ultimate aim..it also discloses the supposed riches of Bangladesh which the Indian govt manipulated him to belive, such as vast reserves of gas in bay of bengal which Bangladesh could sell to India, the distorted economic reviews fed in by the RAW...over all it was good riddance with East Pakistan..or today..Talibans would have been Bengalis..

Not only that, they believe any history of South Asia are part of Indian history. Their kids will subconsciously believe that Indian subcontinent all belong to India.

Meantime, everything in popular Indian culture is imported via West Asia from Persia, Central Asia, China and even Far East..

Sooner than you think dear chap. Don't forget the rate at which they are building ships :o:
Reminded of the rate at which USSR was building them, we then knew what happened to them.

.
USSR was a naval power but was not known to be a shipbuilding power.

China spends less than 1.5% of GDP on defence. China should be spending more and can afford it.

Moreover, China is now a shipbuilding power and has the entire industrial eco-system to support it.

Whatever make you happy...India can not stop anybody till they enter in Indian water....same goes to China also..

Exactly! Last year China defence spend was only ¥954.354 billion, equivalent to only 1.28% of GDP (¥74.4127 trillion). It's very pacifist level of spending, which has to be further split thin across many departments from navy, cyber, airforce, strategic rocket to space.

China owns a gigantic base of heavy industries (machines, shipbuilding as you've mentioned), even more steel capacity than rest-of-the-world combined, but unless war broke out there's no urgent need to divert them into full-scale military production, at the moment we are running a peace-time economy.

Building ships is one thing but designating CBG for operations in IO is another. When China does get her first CBG, they are more likely to operating close to home ground consolidating against navies such USN and JMSDF with far richer naval tradition.

So what? If they put their carrier group(s) in the Indian Ocean, they aren't in the Pacific and thus are not facing the US ;-)

That's actually a plus for them.

Building and operating are two different things USSR built perhaps 200+ submarines- A country with much smaller population than China, unlimited natural resources being a top exporter of minerals, oil and gas- If at all the rate of ship building would translate to operational capability most of these 200+ boats would not have just rusted around in their naval bases- Adding to that China stands even more surrounded that USSR ever could be- at least they had the arctic- US and Japanese are sitting right at the nose of the Chinese and all they have is shallow waters-

Coming to Carrier Battle group- Let their Carrier fleet get fully operational- AFAIK they are yet to demonstrate attack capability and still are unable to carry Anti-Ship missiles while flying from deck-
