you do know there was a war in April right? and in terms of GDP, Armenia and Georgia spend more than Azerbaijan on military.

Are you rly saying that those 4 days was a war............ rly? come on... It's like more a lightining land invasion, with a lot of civilians dead...

300 soldiers dead and hundreds wounded in 4 days from both sides, yes i would categorize that as war

I call it a clash with lots of dead guys for only 2000 hectares of land...

what you call it is irrelevant, the fact is the military is active and requires a good budget, another fact is that Azerbaijan spends less than nearly all of its neighbors on military in terms of GDP, except Turkey.

azer spend more than armenia

nope, Azerbaijan in 2016 spent 3.7% of GDP on the military, Armenia spent more than 4%

I was wrong about Georgia, they drastically reduced their budget.

Azer GDP 73+B$ and Armenia 10B$ so yes azer spend more than georgia and armenia combined

do you understand the term GDP? % of GDP spent is a more important indicator than the amount, because its a more appropriate comparison.

Almost 3B$ spent on defense in Azer, vs Armenia with 400M$. So in conclusion your country has a lot more TO SPEND on defense, that's a fact. The problem with Azer, her spending is not always perfectly appropriate, meaning you spend on thing that are useless or not usable for your type of war. And with all this spending in High Tech ( israeli/turkish and so on) Azer still lack significant advance on his armenian counterpart. But the most important thing it's your army elite, who are not suitable or lack knwoladge in their field. You are fighting a nearly primitive enemie, you have to remember that.

nope its not
e.g India spend just 1.8% on gdp vs 4+% Pakistan.
still India is THE SINGLE LARGEST WEAPON importer while Pakistan is not even among top 10

to put it simple % GDP is simply measure of % you earn spent on military

How can you even break top 10 when you're budget is so small? $6 Billion? India has a military that's been neglected by previous governments, with a lot of things to replaced. Domestic systems are also being bought as well, but a lot is imported, sure.

And with every big order India buys, the outside OEM has to invest 30% back into India. The recent Rafale deal, they had to invest 50% back into India. India is only recently opening up it's aerospace, defence sector. These, "imports", are actually creating India's private sector military industrial complex, watch in the next 10-20 years. Before this, actually very recently, only a single entity was controlling aerospace, defence production, this socialist type of thinking didnt work for India, and cant keep up with big demands.

Compare it's auto industry now since it liberalized, to where it was before. This is where defence and aero is going.

exactly, I am not comparing the amount, I am talking about the economic effect of military spending, Azerbaijan does not spend more than required and the neighboring countries dedicate more resources to sustain their military spending.
