What's new

India has a long term plan to annex Bangladesh in a way or other in future.

Don't take it the wrong way. Just asking out of curiosity. How's jute industry doing now? Does it contribute significantly to BD economy?
Nope, jute industry has shifted to India. The Indian factories lying shut since 1947, suddenly reopened. Gen Arora, on retirement, was appointed as Director of Jute Corpn, Calcutta. IA troops had ransacked our jute mills carrying machinery with them to India. Our jute warehouses and baling presses were put on fire. And finally through Tajuddin Govt, before Sheikh could come back, the industry was nationalized.

I for one - cannot deny that this happened. Verified through many actual military personnel accounts.

@ During those days specially during the Korean War (1952-54) Raw jute were widely used. Jute were mainly used in the following manners in military :
1. Jute were used as a sand bag for defensive purposes.
2. Hassen cloths made of jute were used for making underground command post or any other dug in post. These
hassen cloths were used for fixing on the side walls of dug in post.
3. Raw Jute were used as Camouflaged nets.
4. Raw jute were also used as a raw material in gun powder. People says that raw jutes is smokeless.
5. Besides raw jutes were widely used as a bag for carrying sugar, rice, wheat or any other purposes.

@ So, during fifties and sixties the demand of raw jute so high that Pakistan govt had to make a separate Port at Mongla in Khulna.

@ After our independence the demand of jute in the world market reduced a lot but we hope considering environmental impact the demand of raw jute and finish product will soon rise.

As I understand, it is textiles which is leading sector now? Many textile brands of Pakistan has invested heavily in BD after government screwed up in power sector. Hope it benefits your economy though you are still our competitors in this sector.

The cake from our RMG sector goes to Indians who control the global buying mechanism.

What a strange thread! Why would any sane country want to annex Bangladesh? What would anyone gain from that?

What would that country then do with the 200 million impoverished Bangladeshis with no natural resources?

Naive comment. I will troll a little. Replace 'Bangladeshi' and 'Bangladesh' with 'India' and 'Indians'. Then replace 200 Million with Billion plus. The situation of poverty in India is certainly no better than Bangladesh, GDP notwithstanding. It is obvious you have never been to Bangladesh.

One should not throw stones while living in glass houses.

Annexing is a far out concept though I'd agree.

Relax Dude ! No one is claiming that anyone wants to annex India, the OP says India wants to annex Bangladesh!! Glad you agree, no sane country would want to take on an extra impoverished 200 million with no natural resources. It's a silly thread, more sane would be starting one on Voldermort annexing Nepal!

And meanwhile umbrellas will not stop Pak and Chinese nukes showering over Delhi. SHW and her goons on RAW pay are not entire BD.

No one will shower nukes to defend Bangladesh, in fact barely anyone will notice!! :drag:

Bangladesh Army has more formations and weapons than what PA had in 1971.

With 9 Infantry divisions and paramilitary forces, BDA has more chances than what PA had to fend off an IA attack. There are limitations of deployments by IA against BD. e.g. the 33 Corps of IA will not use all its assets against BD and leave the significant strategic area that its assigned to sandwiched between BD and China. Then the strike crops of IA are not much use against BD coz of its unfriendly terrain towards tanks and also IA wont vacate forces from borders of kashmir, punjab and Rajasthan. However, IA might use some formations from from 12 or 21 Corps but still such force will not give any substantial advantage to IA against BDA. This time there wont be mukti bahini to help IA also.

Its the Airforce and the Navy where IAF and IN can show strength and prove to be a turning point in the war, therefore BD needs to concentrate on building its AF and Navy to deter aggression from India.

India does have plans to annex the orange marked regions of Bangladesh in the near future and is augmenting its armed forces and paramilitary forces in the Bengal, Assam and Tripura to do just this.

We are gathering strength in this region so that 1 million Indian troops will soon be positioned to attack along six points along the India-Bangladesh border.

India wants to annex the Rangpur region on the top left corner in order to expand the chicken's neck and facilitate accessibility to the Eastern states of India.

India wants to annex the Khulna region so that the whole of the Sundarbans lies within India.

India want to annex the Sylhet region so that illegal Bangladeshi migrants to Assam can be settled there and it wants to distribute the tea estates of Sylhet between the people of Assam and Meghalaya.

India wants to capture the entire Chittagong region so that the people of the Eastern states will now have a port to trade their goods to South East Asia and this will help the economy of the Eastern States of India.

India already annexed in 1971. and ruled Bangladesh through proxy ever since. how many times do they need to annex?

Indian Hindus will never dare to do that. If BD and PK back to the union Muslim will certainly start shoving beef into Hindus mouth for sure.

First we will do a shuddhikaran by shoving pork into Muslims mouth for sure. :)

Definitely CHT is a big target for India.

We would also like sea access to the North East. We don't want overpopulated Chittagong, but we will annex some land to the south, and build a small port. This will also broaden our trading options with Myanmar. Our puppet Hasina is in place and waiting for our orders. Part 2 is Sunderbans, we want all of it for 'Project Tiger'.

Needless to say, being of Arabic and Persian descent, Bangladeshis will put up a stoic and heroic resistance. We will have to deploy Hasina and Honey Singh to culturally assimilate them first. Brigades of boy scouts from West Bengal will be deployed for the actual invasion.
