If you think that having atom bomb means super power then we are super power since 1974.

India is actually a super power and the Supreme Creator has fulfilled that dua long time back.

Economy wise, military wise, space technology wise and Nuclear technology wise and even population wise.

India all set to finally build its own commercial jet, the aircraft will be similar to modern day Boeing Jets, but will be priced at only Rupees 7 crore. (Photo - AFP)

The country's first experience with a civilian aircraft is the Saras turboprop multi-role light transport plane that has been developed by the National Aerospace Laboratories.

Getting back to the topic.....

Lot of potential in the MRO business for India as we operate a substantial number of commercial aircrafts. The number is projected to grow exponentially in future.

The Indian Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry was worth USD 800 million in 2011 and is expected to grow to over USD 1.5 billion by 2020. However, currently India constitutes 1 percent of the global MRO market worth USD 45 billion.

A key development has been setting up of MRO complex at Nagpur by Boeing, currently handed over to Air India. Due to its convenient location at the center of India, this along with a engine overhaul facility (with GE) has a great potential for the industry and region.

Air India’s $107-m Nagpur MRO facility set to take off on April 30 | The Financial Express

brother i was not talking about Nuclear as If being a Nuclear power is what make you SUPER POWER, then there are 7-8-9 SUPER POWERS in World.. .

And even china with huge economy , technology, military (all #2,3) is not claiming to be a super power so please you must not PRETEND to be a super power. India have the ability, is set on his path , but is not a supper power AT PRESENT TIME..
and BTw there is a difference between "built" and "final set to built" .. you are starting making something which china today launched. but still i wish that some day INdia appear a Super Power. :enjoy:

But you are not seeing how India is reducing poverty under its five year plan .

India has halved its incidence of extreme poverty, from 49.4 per cent in 1994 to 24.7 per cent in 2011, ahead of the 2015 deadline set by the U.N,, shows the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Report, 2015, released on Tuesday.

Cant you see the projects started by Indian Government in this direction and this only shows the qualities which Indian Establishment is having and this makes India a super power.

and here India is helping many nations of Africa and South East Asia and implementing projects.

India is doing things being a democracy which is hard in many ways, our model is different from China but still we are moving steady in that direction.

It's all about corruption which kept us as a buyer... With huge market with in the country India would have become largest manufacturer if aircraft building started before a decade or two...

My guess is it's not Air India which will be a large customer, But the India as a market, a large market, with global flight operators offering dedicated platforms for service to/from/within India.

From what I've heard Indian airlines cannibalize planes because it's cheaper in India to buy a new plane every few years than it is to do major maintenance on the Xth year of the plane.

Have they sorted out the landing gear problem for the IJT Sitara yet? :coffee:

The problems with present generation is, they see a long term projection and completely forgets about the short term building blocks?

Saras has been flying since the early 2000s, what effort has been made to induct that into civil/military aviation market? I seriously doubt Indian regional aircraft will see the day light in the coming decade, and fly with a global safety certificate.
