For tv's lg and samsung

Yes. My only point was whatever Sony's products, there's a competitor already offering similar quality(if not better) and tech specs at lower prices.

It's a subjective issue, so no issues if you prefer Sony. Sony Ericsson at least had good battery life. Sadly, can't say the same about the newer Sony smartphones.

My friend had one. Got rid of it in 2 months. 3 hours of wifi and the battery would be out of it's juice. And bad display as well. Was nowhere as good as s4.

must be z1 or z2

I agree with other Indian members on here. Sony isn't what it used to be. Well its not like they have regressed or whatever, for if anything they still make good quality products. Its just that other countries/companies have moved/progressed even faster(produce even better quality products) and adapted to changing tech even faster than Japanese elctronic companies. U.S, South Korea, Taiwan and now increasingly China have taken an edge on Japanese electronic companies during the past decade alot. The huge lost Sony suffers today(which might even bankrupt some parts of the company int he coming years) is a tastament to this. Samsung alone now outsells all major Japanese elctronic giants combined. The most worrying part of it is that things are getting only worse with each passing year. Japanese companies will have to restructure/re-evaluate their policies and adapt more to changing needs of consumers and innovate/bring in new products like they did in the past(when they pioneered many new products like walkman etc) while looking for ways to reduce their costs/prices, else in less than a decade from now they will all be forgotten/bankrupt.

I used to be a big fan of sony, in most of the products but their value for perfomance ratio has significantly collapsed.. ... But sony's reliability is still pretty good. I have gone through quite a few Klipsch headphones, whereas my sony earphones have outlasted 3 klipsch's in last couple of years...

I was about to order Xiaomi mi4 but no 4G international version mean i will have to wait. This phone is perfect, top of the line specs and 5 inch screen in very compact body. Plus now one can insteall Vanilla Android on it and make it like Nexus but better.

Xiaomi Redmi 1s has serious heating problem and fast battery drainage problem, it is slow also even with its supposedly high specs, just check the 'Certified buyer' reviews on flipkart, reviews & ratings are very poor. I don't understand this recent obsession with specs in case of mobile phones, very misleading. Real performance & quality cannot be measured by specs only.

redmi 1 is not even mid range let alone high specs.

thats correct, chinese are no match for the japs, since the cost of manufacuring is low in china, most of the computing gadgets are manufactured there through outsourcing but that doesnt mean that chinese can outwitt leading western cos in innovation and tech.

Obviously someone still living in yesteryears。:D

Japanese brands used to be highly sought after by the majority of Chinese。

Now a days they are a shadow of their former selves and are bought by a few only for old times sake in China。

Apart from camera makers,it is extremely difficult to find another Japanese consumer electronics brand that commands more than 1% of the Chinese market which is huge,Sony or not Sony。

PS I have no qualms about your being a die-hard Jap fan。:)

PSS You must get a move on stocking up Sony devices, for in a few year you might find it impossible to lay your hands on Sony(the hardware maker no more)。:azn:
