I'll tell you what kind of barbarians we DONT have - the kind that crosses over intentionally and beheads people.

And our helicopter didn't cross with an entire crew, it was one pilot only, in an unarmed helicopter. Quite different from an armed soldier crossing the LoC with an AK-47, across a border through which terrorists often cross. What do you expect our armymen posted there to do, go ask him politely, "Excuse me dear child, but are you lost?"

It's all to do with professionalism and we are proud of our armed forces for that.....you talk about the threat posed by a single man with a rifle crossing the border, well let me enlighten you how the true professionals deal with such situations, even when a fully armed Indian fighter jet lost it's way and crossed into Pakistan, like your trigger happy soldiers, we didn't blow it out of the air but forced it to land thus saving the so called dear child's a$$.

If the soldier guarding the border does not know where the boundary line is then what exactly was he guarding?
Soldiers on the border don't wander around and cross into hostile territories even by mistake.

No issue you did the right thing, our soldier if wanted he should've surrendered to save his life, he didn't ran away like puss leaving weapons behind instead he stayed there so higher authorities can make some arrangement and when he was challenged he injured two nath brigade soldiers. This is act of valor and i hope PA will award him Sitara-Jurat.

And people blame IA for being "trigger happy"

and what , just get Shot ? he had two choice to die weapons down or to die Fighting , He choose the later one .
Case closed. He chose to fight and he got shadat. Where is Indian soldier's fault ?

IF a guy is shooting at you, what would you do, shoot back or let him shoot ?

Soldiers don't believe in Gandhi in one aspect that if someone slaps you, forward the other cheek.

How do you know he would get shot after shouting surrender or doing the other things a soldier is trained to do?

How do you know he had only two choices? Did he tell you so?

So at what time Indian CC was informed and when the soldier was killed ? It just takes few second to spot and kill a person out in the open.

May be the order came late by the time fire exchange already happened and soldier got killed. We have to make a time line to deduce what was the situation.

And Indian Army soldiers have been angry since LOC incident. They couldn't see an enemy soldier way into our side. He was a threat and could have killed some Indian soldier.

He had his Gun put down , to show he is not a threat ( Those who want to cross LOC dont do that ) . and i am not very sure about the time line of when CC was contacted , will try to get that this info .

@Windjammer I presume there was a warning sign given first and Indian pilot chose not to fire. In this case, the soldier shot back so we also shot at him.

Why not the Nishan-e-haider?

Getting lost, wandering into enemy territory, and getting killed surely deserves that. True act of valor indeed.

You are giving contradicting statements.

In other post you wrote that he could have surrendered or fought, he chose the later.

Now you are saying he put down the gun.

Which one is right ?

You guys did the same thing infact you crossed all limits and said that our soldiers were playing football with the head of IA soldier. :blah:

Don't talk about puss leaving. It will again start same old rhetoric and Indians have better examples.

So by your Logic if we had shot down your chopper some way back it would have bee All Right ? Indian CC was contacted , and he assured that he will be returned safely .

Not by my logic.

As I explained before, our helo was a NON-WEAPONISED, unarmed, cargo transporter. If is was armed with missiles and guns, and flying over a sensitive installation, I am sure your response would have been different.

An armed man with an AK-47 wandering near our post will be assumed to be an infiltrating terrorist, not a lost man looking for his superiors.

My point is not that he Embraced Shahadat , we are proud of him for that , he did what a soldier is suppose to do .

it is that there shouldn't have been any firing in the first place . it will have long term implications , what do you think will happen if the next time one or two Indian Soldiers cross LOC by mistake ( it can happen knowing the terrain of LOC ) . do you think PA will not shoot them , even if IA dont shoot first ?

The comparison you have made is absolutely laughable... really..you are comparing an Aircraft with a Soldier in a volatile region were you have a habit of sending terrorists into India ? :astagh:

Who are you reffering to? It was certainly not me, I do not believe in hearsay and those people who say "we were told so".
