Pakistan Is Not Collapsing!

I asked ChatGPT the following question: Will Pakistan Collapse?

ChatGPT's Answer: It is difficult to predict with certainty whether or not Pakistan will collapse in the future. The country has faced a number of challenges throughout its history, including political instability, economic difficulties, and security threats. However, Pakistan also has a number of strengths, including a large population, a strategic location, and a rich cultural heritage. The outcome of these competing factors will depend on a number of internal and external factors, and is difficult to predict.

If you, God forbid, have cancer and ask ChatGPT: Will I live till my next birthday; And it answers, 'It is difficult to predict with certainty whether you will see your next birthday". How would you feel? Uncertainty, in matters of life or death, is not a good answer.

the reserves drop in last three months also has to do largely with the payments made.
Overall you folks don't talk about the reserve fall in March of 2022 that was even worse.
There have been many discussions on it. The reserves fell from $22 bn to $17 bn over the months of Dec ‘21 to Mar ‘22, on the back of higher oil prices. And to the fact that oil subsidies were given (if I am not wrong)

In context also remember, the reserves during the PTI government increased from $10 bn to $22 bn.

No matter how you argue, the PDM has destroyed Pakistan’s economy. Look no further to the inter bank rates and the unofficial rates. The forex reserves have been burnt in the process. Imports are at a standstill and the economy is gradually coming to a halt.

Many countries are also in difficult situation. Bangladesh and even Philippine face energy crisis. Egypt and BD have been another IMF patient, Sri Lanka has been defaulted. Many nations are in difficulty.

I believe one of the core problems is The Fed tightening policy.

Pakistan is collapsing (hasn’t collapsed)

Few reasons

- No concept of accountability (Salman Shahbaz is a slam dunk case but exonerated)

- No justice (murderers like Rao Anwar exonerated)

- No meritocracy (PM is a crook, FM is a back pain faker and is an economic hitman, ex CAOS was a novice and involved in RCO)

When you repeat this over years, something will give. Add to the fact that Allah’s wrath is on nations who do not abide by concept of accountability, justice and meritocracy.

This is why Fiscal discipline should be brought to Pakistan to improve internal strenght. No more budget deficit more than 3 %. Defence budget should be slashed. Defence budget at around 4 % of GDP (2021) is very unhealty particularly with any country that has low revenue (low tax ratio to GDP)

What you mention are valid points but those are technicals.

Concept of accountability, justice, meritocracy is what is lacking. You’ll have same faces back with a vengeance.

While these days Brofessor sb reminds me of the band playing on the Titanic, I have to agree with him. There are far too many players who have a stake in Pak as a going concern.

1. The taller than mountain friend has invested over US$ 60 billion in Pak. Even a country as rich as it cant allow that much money to go down the drain. Pak is also useful as a cats paw in keeping local rival IND in check.
2. As the only state which is ideologically Islamic and is the only Islamic nuclear power, it has a certain brand equity among the brotherly Gulf states. Plus it is a source of manpower and if push comes to shove as a source of military manpower as well. While they may be indifferent to Pakistan being in a mess, there is no way the Keeper of the Two Holy Cities will allow Pak to vanish.
3. The Anglo American alliance too has large diplomatic and military investments in Pak.
4. Last but not the least, PAK or at least the cis Indus provinces are not a bunch of tribals or nomads; they are a settled society of producers who have lived in organised states for 5000 years. They have enough historical experience and ability to run a proper state.

😃 😀 😄 😁

Yes, in March when it was strongly suggested VONC would happen reserves started to drop.
Who told you that?
Or did you just assume it..
Reserves started to drop in February right after Russian invasion of Ukraine and halt in global oil supply chain.

Your arguments have a mix of Sunk Cost Fallacy and some soft feelings philosophy. I think a point will come when many bilateral lenders start thinking of cutting their losses. Think of Cuba and USSR. No one argues Pakistan will 'vanish'. It may reach a secular decline like Lebanon or Egypt. Both of them are quite strategic.

True. But "secular decline" you describe can be reversed, an outright collapse cannot be. LEB, EGY, PAK can all be revived and put on the right course. It will depend on the choices and decisions of the leaders of these countries.

This shows the limitation and stupidity of this AI, and for you not having an ounce of the brain to think:

- large population; doesn't mean anything if the quality of the population is subpar; Israel, with a much smaller population out does Pakistan, even Bangladesh, and Indonesia
- strategic location; with the end of the Afghan conflict and Russia neutralized on European doorstep, Pakistan no longer needed, India is the new boy toy
- rich cultural heritage; the f*ck this has to do with anything economy related? I'm sure the rich cultural heritage of pre-British India, with whores and Kusra's dancing in their mahals, etc., saved them right from the Brits.

@Bleek @Mirzali Khan @Olympus81

Why is it that all the Phudus are born in Pakistan proper?

Everyone opposes Pakistan's collapse because it would be catastrophic for south Asia.

In Pakistan, there are many dangerous elephants that can cause more damage than most other countries.
