SAU will produce domestic and national batteries

Sakarya University (SAU) will produce batteries that can be used in many areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and electric cars with domestic and national facilities.

According to the statement made by the university, the project titled "Lithium Sulfur Batteries with High Energy Density for Built-in Applications" presented under the coordination of Sakarya University within the scope of the European Union (EU) Horizon 2020 program was found worth supporting by the EU.

The project, which aims to ensure the domestic production of the components used in energy technologies and the development of the domestic industry, aims to reduce the external dependence in the battery sector in the energy sector.

The project is based on Sakarya University Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department and Sakarya University Research and Application Center. It will be carried out under the coordination of Mahmud Tokur. The study was entitled to be supported by 980 thousand euros out of the 22.5 million euro budget allocated by the EU in this area.

While the project consortium includes "Graphene Batteries" from Norway and "Pulsedeon" from Finland. Mahmud Tokur was also the youngest coordinator to receive support.
Professor of Sakarya University in the project. Dr. Hatem Akbulut and Assoc. Dr. Tuğrul Çetinkaya worked as a researcher and Abdulkadir Kızılaslan as an assistant researcher.

Can also be used in domestic car

The project was entitled to support by receiving a positive response from the call made by more than 300 organizations from 18 countries under the "ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems" program.

Within the scope of the project, highly energy-intensive lithium-sulfur batteries, which may have potential for application in UAV's energy storage systems, will be produced.

"The battery infrastructure at Sakarya University is numbered in the world"

The statement included the views of Dr. Mahmud Tokur stated that the batteries to be produced with the project have a wide usage area including electric vehicles, electric ferries and fixed storage systems, and noted that an important accumulation will be created for the domestic development of domestic vehicle battery systems that can form the basis for the domestic automobile TOGG.

Pointing out that the project is expected to achieve 1.5 times the energy density of the existing lithium-ion batteries, Tokur said, "We will eliminate some safety risks of lithium-ion batteries. At the same time, we will eliminate the disadvantages of lithium-ion batteries at very low and very high temperatures. we plan to remove it. " used the expression.

Toga, Saudi battery in the area, stressing that Turkey has the most extensive infrastructure, said:

"At this point in the world numbered are one of the university. Turkey's leading equipped with advanced capabilities Sakarya University Energy Storage Laboratory infrastructure with Sakarya University scientists in our country to contribute to the use of a more efficient way of resources, we also aim to reduce our external dependence on energy. Technology Our project will provide a great advantage to our country in order to be in a position that is not a follower but a producer and a follower. "

Object Tracking and Identification by Quantum Radar

Entanglement; as a Resource for Communication and Sensing - Kadir Durak (Özyeğin University, Turkey) ABSTRACT: Entanglement is one of the miracles of quantum physics which does not only fascinate with its counter intuitive nature, but also has practical applications in the fields of cryptography, computation and sensing. The commonly used quanta for entanglement are the photons due to their non-local coherence and easy manipulation in atmospheric and fiber channels. We analyze the emission rate, profile and collection optics dependency on brightness of entangled photons created within a nonlinear Beta-BBO crystal via spontaneous parametric down conversion process. We show that the brightness of down-conversion is under-estimated in the literature but the asymmetric emission profile of down converted photons limits the collection efficiency. Such a bright source can be used for sensing applications like position and velocity acquisition of distant object using time, polarization and momentum correlations of entangled photons, i.e. quantum radar. In this talk, the proof-of-principle experimental results of quantum radar concept will be presented and some possible limitations will be elaborated.

I opened a separate heading for quantum radar studies in Turkey. If you move the topic there, your sharing will not be forgotten over time. Both the subject is evaluated more tidy.
