This is real good news. looks like the PA is returning to normalcy. this is what the CoAS real job is.
Good news. Musharraf did this regularly until very recently. And he was very involved with the Army until very recently.![]()
Guys any suggestions for Sir Kayani?
1. robust and professional trg in the PA weapons systems and doctrines.
2. promotions boards to be run on purely merit basis.
3. improve image and morale/motivation of the PA abroad and domestically.
4. MET programs not only in the US but UK and EU.
5. participate in multi-national military excercises.
Right now my only sugession to him will be?
Make Pakistanis proud of their defenders. like in past.
Regards
Wilco

blain2,Sir,
MET can only be conducted in countries that actually provide funding for this program. US is the only country that does this very smart thing frequently. The Brits are too cheap and PA gets a bigger bang for the buck going over to the US. Out of pocket, PA funds officers to go to German Military Training Schools as these are considered to be extremely good.
The rest are excellent points. My own suggestion for Gen Kiyani, please stay out of politics and for VVIP protection roles, ask the GoP to fund something else and take this responsibility off the SSG.
blain2,
Are there plans to absorb interior security organizations into the Ministry of Defence? I remember issues and complaints that the FC, Rangers and other paramilitary organizations were not adequtely fulfilling their roles due to lack of equipment, dismal funding, misuse of helicopters by Ministry of Interior, ethnic issues among FC, etc?
A country which is not proud of its defenders dose not deserve to live. Pakistan is a country that deserves to live.
