Given issue X, where X is actually a real issue, there will be people who raise it with good intentions, and those who raise it with malicious intent. Now if someone starts focusing too much on the people with malicious intent, it dilutes the importance of issue X. Such people are as detrimental to the nation, as people who raise X with malicious intent. Think about it. If somebody's vested interests lie in X never getting solved, it is a given they will start harping about the malicious people to divert attention from the real issue.

The other reason is that Punjabi culture is rich, music and food is popular, poetry is excellent, cities are great and unique, and there is general envy in Pakistan in particular, and surrounding nations to Punjabi Muslim culture.
