Jinnah Class Revealed

How we miss this?
View attachment 771516

Jinnah class large scale model was also present at Babur class ceremony.
That was a model of the Babur class itself. Detailed pictures of this are available in the other thread.
That's probably the model of Turkey's first Offshore patrol ship. President Tayyip Erdogan also performed steel cutting ceremony of the patrol ship along with Babur Class Milgem ship

Where are the torpedo tubes ?? Usually on each side there are 2x 324 mm or 3x324 mm torpedo tubes 😉

The PN is probably thinking, "the best sub-hunters are submarines."

That is also self defense purpose of tubes for Ships if pn melgim has 2x on each side I am sure Jinnah class has them too it’s not in the open like on f-22p but covered with doors like on any newer design like 054a/p, melgim and other ships

Good news out of this whole scenario is that Jinnah class is going to be a new ship rather than 4 one of babur class.
So the question is what will be fait of those additional daman class ships. will Jinnah replace them or will it be in addition to 6 heavy tonnage ships planned but still not revealed ships.

The PN is working towards 20 "major surface vessels."

Our guess is that "major surface vessel" = a 2,000+ ton ship capable of anti-ship warfare, anti-sub warfare, anti-air warfare, and supporting a helicopter.

By this definition, the PN has 12 such ships in the pipeline: 4 Type 054A/P, 4 Babur-class, and 4 F-22P. You can add the 2 Yarmouk-class OPVs just to be conservative -- so 12-14 'major surface vessels.'

The remaining 6-8 ships could be Jinnah-class frigates. This would make sense because the PN is paying for the development of this ship for a reason. It wants a design tailored to its requirements and will invest a lot of money into preparing KSEW to carry out the project from scratch. So, building 6-8 of these frigates is the right call.

I think the 6 'heavy tonnage ships' were in the context of OPVs, but it's unclear. Besides, the direction of the procurement may have shifted a bit with the new CNS. The current CNS openly said that shallow-water attack (SWAT) subs are a major focus, so I'd keep an eye on that.

However, I do think the PN will still acquire additional OPVs, but not from Damen Shipyards. Rather, they could look at ASFAT's MILGEM-based OPVs. KSEW is going to get very familiar with building this design (Babur-class), so a lite variant equipped with a main gun and CIWS could be an affordable option.

Looks like a Magnificent concept however still lot of time before first ship arrives it will be a good 10 years before a ship is made

2020-2028 is slotted for arrival of Milgem , Type054 and Submarines
This delivery timeframe is already quite , well spread out

Navy projects really take ample time before they materialize

Not entirely clear if the JINAH CLASS ship construction will commence post Milgem Project or if the project is running simultaneously

There is plenty of space for future integration which seem to be the purpose of this frigate. With very little tinkering PN probably can integrate any weapon system it wants at home even our future Ashbm. People need to look at this frigate as not a AAW frigate rather a general purpose frigate which can be armed with heavier missile. Just my observation.

Lets not forget PN has not armed its OPVs with any sensor or weapons package so it is highly likely that Jinnah class might follow that same route. Enough space there to integrate a weapons and sensor package at a later date.

so your saying 250 million a unit for PN milgem does not include weapons? I still think that PN should be cost effective because of number of weapons and ships of IN.
It was perhaps mentioned by some Turkish official that the Pak corvettes shall cost lesser as weapon installation shall be done separately, meanwhile considering available information the stealth features of these corvettes are superior so it shall not be possible to target them from longer ranges. PN despite higher costs should also seriously consider stealth aspects of surface assets esspecially whith short to mediuo range Sams.
