Even though the economic crisis in Turkey is harsh for the peoples, State is not in financial difficulty. If the earthquake had not happened, Erdogan would have entered the election with much better economic data. Problem we have is the inflation caused by the unsuccessful agricultural policy and the mess created by the refugees.

I remember the Turkiye before Erdogan but i guess most young turks dont and thats why they hate erdogan. We have our own issues but turks should know that at times sovereignty is more important than other factors. Its going to be a tough election.

The agreement for the first phase train sets, including the new train lines such as Ankara- Sivas and Ankara-İzmir, the construction of which has been completed and is about to be completed, has been made with Siemens and the first sets have started to be delivered as of 2019. A very successful model that is highly reliable and offers some advantages. Also as you know the manufacturer has established itself as one of the industry leaders worldwide.
A gradual transition is envisaged for Turkish main lines and high-speed train sets. Factory acceptance tests for the first new generation Main Line Locomotive model were completed last year, and the first model was launched on the rails with a ceremony recently. So the certification process has been completed. The first model, the E5000 Electric Main Line Locomotive, is a new generation locomotive with a power of over 5000 kW, AC-AC drive system, TSI certification and a speed of 140 km/h. All main components developed for the electric locomotive are important in terms of having critical technology that can be exported as separate products. Each of the traction motors designed by TÜBİTAK RUTE and manufactured by TÜRASAŞ Eskişehir Regional Directorate has a power of 1280 kW and has the feature of the highest power train traction motor designed in our country so far. Likewise, each of the traction converters in the locomotive has a power of 2.5 MW and is the most powerful high voltage traction converter designed in our country for a rail system vehicle.
It is expected to be produced in significant quantities in both freight transport and passenger transport, but compared to the actual road map, you may encounter very different surprises, especially in 2024-2025.
The National high speed Electric Train Set, which is targeted to be exported to European Union countries as of 2023, is designed in accordance with TSI standards and its speed has been determined as 225 km/h for the first phase (revised from 165 km/h). The design with aluminium body will have AC/AC, IGBT/IGCT drive system and 322 passenger capacity.
The manufacturer and integrator company is TURASAS. It is an Ankara-based economic state enterprise established by merging TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜDEMSAŞ and TÜVASAŞ, which are subsidiaries of TCDD. Here's a link to the company: https://www.turasas.gov.tr/
