Afaik the Armenians budged really fast and the Russians told them to do so. Things were de-escalted pretty quick
Come on dude...we are talking about 1992 when none of the post soviet republics had any sizable armed forces. Maybe except Ukraine and Belarus with their stockpiles and cadres but definitely not South Caucasus nor even Central Asia
Russians told Turks “what to do so” not Armenians. Shaposhnikovs comment was directed at Turks not their allies. When Russians look at South Caucasus they don’t see nor care about Ge, Arm, Az. They see Turkey and Iran.

P
I imagine TSK being present in Azerbaijan now is making sure the Armeniens have pulled back. Continuing now would definitely not be a very smart move.

Also, I am not sure the TSK is going to pull back, it'll be a long "training" session. Even a chance to build a base and "deploy".
pull back? Is Armenia holding new territory of Azerbaijan ?

The conflict in the area caused a harsh reaction from Turkey. Turkish Prime Minister Tansu Çiller announced that any Armenian advance on the main territory of Nakhchivan would result in a declaration of war against Armenia. Russian military leaders declared that "third party intervention into the dispute could trigger a Third World War". Thousands of Turkish troops were sent to the border between Turkey and Armenia in early September. Russian military forces in Armenia countered their movements by increasing troop levels along the Armenian-Turkish frontier and bolstering defenses in a tense period where war between the two seemed inevitable.[77] The tension reached its peak, when Turkish heavy artillery shelled the Nakhchivan side of the Nakhchivan-Armenian border, from the Turkish border for two hours. Iran also reacted to Armenia's attacks by conducting military maneuvers along its border with Nakhchivan in a move widely interpreted as a warning to Armenia.[78] However, Armenia did not launch any further attacks on Nakhchivan and the presence of Russia's military warded off any possibility that Turkey might play a military role in the conflict.[77] After a period of political instability, the Parliament of Azerbaijan turned to Heydar Aliyev and invited him to return from exile in Nakhchivan to lead the country in 1993.

that is why they intervened in Georgia... lacking

My view on this is, Turkey will not be allowed to do anything against Armenia without Russian permission or involvement.

The skirmishes in Nakhichevan took place in May 1992.
However, Heydar Aliyev declared a unilateral ceasefire on 23 May and sought to conclude a separate peace with Armenia. Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrossian expressed his willingness to sign a cooperation treaty with Nakhchivan to end the fighting and subsequently a cease-fire was agreed upon.[75]

TC was a prime minister in 93 and that when she made the above statements. By then Nakhchivan enjoyed a year of total cease fire negotiated by LTP and HA[/URL]

They intervene anywhere they want in that region. From Donbass to Georgia. They call the shots there not Turkey.
When Russians look at South Caucasus they don’t see nor care about Ge, Arm, Az. They see Turkey and Iran.

the USSR gave everything armed left in that region to Armenia after the collapse... stop lying

Armenians and Georgians allowed Russia to conquer most of the Caucasus.

Caucasus was a playground for the Ottomans and the Turkic/Iranian Dynasties( Safavids, Afsharids and the Qajars)

Armenians, unlike Georgians, did not have independent fiefdoms so they couldn’t be complicit in such betrayal. Georgians, on the other hand, were constantly raided by north Caucasus tribes aligned with Ottomans and Iranians. Thus, Georgians had no choice but to join russians

I can see why Georgia helped Russia. But a lot of people in the Caucasus especially Dagestanis and Chechens hate Armenians. A lof the people in the Caucasus dont consider armenians to be part of the Caucasus see them more in complict in helping russia take most of the region.

Armenians even have territorial irrendentism in Goergia.

Dagestanis especially Avars hate chechens. Chechens hate Ingush. Ingush hate Ossetians. Ossetians hate Georgians. They all hate each other in that region whether you’re Moslem or Christian. And they all have territorial claims to each other’s territory. Lezgins claim northern part of Az similarly as Azerbaijanis claim Lezgi populated areas of Dagestan.
