Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

I dont want to see our soldiers dying for the cause of another country. I guess half of ES is now Turkish soldiers.

I hope this madness ends after Al-Bab.
The South of Turkey is our concern. Turkish Army should keep going until the last PYD/ISIS terrorist in the North Syria/Iraq is eliminated. Rebels or Syrian Army seem not able to make it .

We have no choice man, at the minimum we will (must) take Bab and do our much talked about safe zone and catch refugees there (perhaps also send ones from Turkey) while making a deal with Russia that Syrians don't bomb those area's.

ISIS forces that fled Mosul coming to Syria. Thats what happens if you attack Mosul before encircling it.

They did try to encircle it, they used Shia militia's to do it by orders of Iran. However they also screwed up because they're wasting valuable SOF personnel doing the daily grind in Mosul. They even ordered UN(?) I think to stop posting casualty numbers.

This is about 9th Div but still;

What's more important is that despite Russia's PR game of flying in orchestra to Palmyra they still can't hold it...

Let me tell you, no player in Syria is effective without its supporter.
SDF/YPG has American support and gear.
FSA in Northern Aleppo at least has TAF.
SAA/Assad has Russia. See Russian forces left Palmyra a few days ago and its besieged by ISIS now.

Yeah, but you do realize that over 1000 FSA fighters are participating in this fight to liberate Al Bab??

By now SAA/Assad has more foreigners fighting for him than Syrians.

Reason people are clamoring on closing down the links between Syria and Iraq is because Iraqi Shia militia's are going to be ordered to move towards Syria, they're already doing this plenty but Iran is pushing Iraq to do it officially. Which means more manpower to hold Assad's place in line. Nothing else.

I'm aware, doesnt change my opinion about them tbh.

If they kick ISIS out and take back Syrian lands from YPG control, I wont mind.
