Look at the tanker ... You can't even imagine what happened to those people after explosion ... :(

RIP.

Ab banda kiya kahay. You can't blame the govt nor can you blame poverty. Idiocy and foolishness. For God's sake its an oil tanker. I get scared when these guys overtake like crazy on the road.

Yesterday another oil tanker fell in okara and people were grabbing oil like water and there were dozens bear that petrol lake and in that petrol lake with bottles and tubs and they would have burned just like these guys if somebody had lighted a cigarette. I mean what can one say but shake his head in astonishment.

Unbelievable. How much petrol would they save by stealing here. Worth 500rs. 1000rs. Is 1000rs enough for you to danger your lives. A liter of petrol is what 76rs. Those bottles and run can carry max what 10-13 liters. Is thousand the price where you would endanger your lives? Such greed and crookedness and then we wonder why the doors of Hell are open for us.

Why on earth would someone expose themselves to that risk of flammable materials for petty small gains? This is such sad situation! RIP... our deepest condolences to the deceased and their families.

Man do you think the ones stealing would have thrown the cigarette. It is a common practice among smokers to throw away a burning stub, someome nearby might have done that or maybe someone who was already smoking threw his stub away in his excitment to steal oil without thinking much. People are very reckless, i remember someone had a written a letter to an overseas based news paper editor regarding people tossing away burning stubs at fuel stations when drop by for refuelling, how risky is that and how it puts everyones life on line.

A cigarette lying 20 meters away form the tanker can lit up a streak of oil leaked out from peoples container, snaking back to the tanker.

Now this is my speculation that unless it was a deserted area, not everyone who has died did so because he was stealing oil. Tanker explosions are massive and could have spread way too far killing bypassers.

In addition to this, pakistan hardly has precaution, and hazard protection awareness campaigns. If there is a toppled over oil tanker, noone is supposed to walk near it let alone steal oil.

One part of me doesn't feel sorry for them.

Other say RIP.

Its easy to dismiss saying that they were stealing oil but keep in mind that these were probably very poor rural folk who toil on someone else's land and survive on their generosity. It is very difficult to judge their actions based on our morality that is cultivated on a full stomach and plentiful access to all amenities of life.

On that note, as abhorrent as stealing is, I do feel sorry of them. They were cheated in life and cheated in death.

RIP.

Its a direct responsibility of government to prevent dangerous trade like this. On a secondary level, it was another responsibility of government to make sure basic things like oil was affordable to its countrymen.
Tankers crash all over the world those who were smoking in its vicinity are to blame

Exactly, from the image, it's obvious that the accident caused a massive pile up and many people in other vehicles got caught in the massive fire.

Same here bro i prefer to keep a safe distance from these fire bombs on wheels
Its stupidity of the awa that resulted in this but can we really blame them when most were rural farm folks?

Damn, those corpses are wiped clean of flesh. One can imagine but with such visual clues you can only imagine that it must have been a really intense blaze.

Looks like they were picking oil from ground which was going to waste anyway and not directly from tanker. Still stupid.

Pictures from two entirely different events.
