Iran Starts Mass Production of Home-Made Fighter Jet (Saeqeh)

It must be the heavily upgraded version that has 400K/s processor... This one has ground mode SAR mode and its range is way better and is very capable... it is like those radars India requested to be fitted in their Mig-29s in their upgrade contract for their 63 mig-29s.... Other than this version this radar won't be good in battle against new aircrafts...
I guess the problem is the size of the Saeghe nose as for F-14s Iran made a very capable radar applying upgrading to its old radars....
To my eyes Iranian air force commanders are not stupid to count on these SAEGHE fighters to counter 4 and 4.5 birds... I guess they want to create a good fleet of ground support planes with Saeghe as it is not an interceptor with today's standards
How hard is it for Iran to make a radar for it's fleet.

How hard is it for Iran to make a radar for it's fleet.
Iran is pretty mature with almost all other types of radars but fighter radars is another story... It is not enough to has the ability and tech to build capable radars, you have to make it so miniature to fit it in a 1x1m nose...let aside smaller processing units, power sources and other stuff...

Iran took the first step very firm by making a capable radar based on F-14's... It is among top 5 radars currently at service in terms of range, accuracy, processors.... But F-14 and F-4 have big noses...If Iran wants to put local radars into the noses of Qaher and Saeghe new gen fighter it takes more time....

Sanctions helped Iran produce home made jet. Otherwise, like it's neighbors, it'd have bought off the shelves. A blessing in disguise!
there is no comparison with other 3rd world countries like us that have been under embargo
Iranians are resilient, dedicated and nationalists and whatever we say about their claims they DO have things to show off. this plane dates back its root on American F-5 with all the present day modifications Iranians could muster.
hats off

the radar of F-14 does not fit into the nose of the HESA SAEQEH.

Qaher and we are still waiting to see him.

Well by what I've seen they want to use Saeqe in ground attack role and for that role they need a complete different radar .
The radar on f14 is designed to work best with moving target .

I second you. Iranians are very resourceful and resilient. Look at their achievement after 36 years of economic embargo.

they have done a lot indeed. they have kept their country together

that said, in my opinion they have suffered a lot diplomatically and economically due to draconian sanctions and their aggressive foreign policy and less than impressive international relations didn't help them much specially some careless comments from their leadership just gave their opponents an excuse to keep them under sanctions and international scrutiny.

a smarter diplomacy with the west re nuclear deal can really help Iran come back to the "international fold" and will be a real kick in the teeth of their Jewish/ Arab alliance which is pressurising America to launch a raid on their nuclear sites.

all of above is actually off topic and takes us away from the dedication and hard work of Iranian technicians, engineers and scientists I will like to see them shine once their leadership sorts out its international standing.

Although I agree with most of your remarks here but... there are buts...

1- If you know Iranian people by nature you realize immediately that Iranians are a very very proud nation... they can not forget what other countries did to us... The list of American and Western and Arabic backstabbing incident are a long list in last let's say 60 to 80 years and still happening... Iranians never seen good from West but their efforts to destroy Iran, shot Iranian elected governments, supporting our enemy and invader of our land with all they have, shutting down civilian aircrafts, Helping Saddam with whatever they had...from sinking Iranian ships and satellite info to chemical weapons that were used to kill thousands and thousands of innocent Iranians.... All Iranian reactions was a small one comparing to what they did... If you see history you see that Iranian took US embassy because it was the commanding center to crash and order to kill Iranians who no more wanted Shah slave regime... If you read about what have been found in US embassy in Tehran despite their efforts to destroy the evidence, you would be shocked of the level of bad US did to us.... so although I agree Iranian foreign policy can be milder but at the same time it is a reflection of internal demands somehow...

2- Iranian foreign policy is very suceccful.... you can see it by Iranian position in 1980 and now... This world is a jungle... nobody recognises you and your interests unless you force them too... this was the case with all other super powers in their way to being superpowers...

3- Iran has no problem with having normal relations with West... We people in Iran understand this too... but if you review Western demands... you figure immediately that they want us to change our government...install someone pro-western...and do whatever they say.... I,m sorry for West but they didn't know us Iranians... we rather die of starve than being other puppets...this was the reason behind Islamic revolution.... Nuclear issues for example.... why an occupier like Israel have the right to have hundreds of nukes ready to fire and do whatever it wants and yet their leaders call Iran to abandon its non-existing bombs!!! It is very simple for Iranians..everybody knows that when something is called HARAM so firm by our leader it means we don't want nukes...but for other usage fields of nuclear tech, I,m sorry... nobody in world can tell us what to do....

4- I guarantee you... Iran is number one fan of destroying all nukes anywhere in world...but think for moment... if some countries have the right to have nukes why should not others??

5- Iranian foreign policy toward bullies in world is working... you see Iranian position despite 36 years of sanctions... Sanctions hurt and it is illegal...but as world understood it in 36 years... Iranian won't leave their beliefs and religion and culture and supporting weaker nations because of sanctions...

6- despite all these, I guess Iranians would benefit from free relations with west... only if...only if...they recognize us the way we are... from a mutual stand of respect... other than this, I see no reconciliation ever...

Irfan, Iran is paying the price for having an independent foreign policy. Every thing else is secondary. It is being an independent nation who does not take dictations from certain circles is the reason why Iran is sanctioned and ridiculed.

What Iran requires is deep penetration aircraft.
Though the policies that Iran is trying to show is for some reason not getting the results that they are intending. The issue is there can not be two powers in the middle east. The Arab block is gearing up with all the forces because it is not the Master mind but only an executor.

fai it clear that we are a proud people. Person was afraid. but if we stay on the military subject. and especially aviation, we realize that this is not enough. iran has a draconian attack power. but to defend the teritoire facing an attack, we need a powerful air defense and aviation. all the countries of the region modernizes its army of air.et is not with the HESA SAEQEH we'll countered.

biento we will have the S-300 is a good thing. but we should think about ordering just emabrgo After the flight, the su-35 and better than any aircraft dansd the region will protect our teritoire and no army dare to attack iran.
we can repel any enemy attack, and attack with our missile.

we also renewed the civil fleet.

Well by what I've seen they want to use Saeqe in ground attack role and for that role they need a complete different radar .
The radar on f14 is designed to work best with moving target .

google traduc english.

not the HESA SAEQEH and much too small for integrated radar of the F-14 or mig-29.we must be realistic, iran needs a big fighter like su-30/35 to cover the entire country and effectively protect the iran .but we will develop cooperation with the Russian and Chinese mixed a light fighter .I think iran deverai back in the capital of MIG and participate in the financing of this society bankrupt iran will negotiate technology and a Russian-Iranian fighter, it will make a huge technological leap forward.MIG and in crisis and russia will see veuxpas MIG fall, and Iran has the ability to play a major role for the redraisement MIG and tear has faith a big technology tranfer and a mixed fighter.but above all it will protect the country, and his need to order as quickly as possible After the Russian fighter just lifted from emabrgo.a faith that the country will have the shelters we can all start another project and take our time to develop them without fear or precipitate a military attack.

To put long story short, this plane is, at minimum, providing Iran a test bed for future fighters, including 4 and 4.5 generations and beyond.

there is no comparison with other 3rd world countries like us that have been under embargo

True statement :enjoy:

Any recent news on Saeqeh-2/Saeqeh-3?

Can someone make this thread sticky, so it stays at the top? I had to use google in order to get to it. Thanx!
