Zoljanah solid propellant space launcher

Then instead of a ICBM disguised as SLV it would be a ICBM tech. demonstrator and a effective ASAT mssile.

Its always about what "go ahead" is given by the government.

Equip it with a 50% lager diameter first stage and that light SLV/ASAT missile becomes a light ICBM.

Actually an ASAT missile test would also be justifiable, equip that 50kg LEO light SLV with a Saman-1 kick-/kill-stage and test it against that 50kg sat the SLV orbited.

This is only the first space launcher in a series to come, with an estimated diameter of some ~60-80 cm according to the latest photography. Tir, Mehr and Qaem are the other members.

But it is a logical incremental step approach, and with ever increased diameter and mass, the family will ultimately evolve into an 350 kg SSO launcher of some 2 meters diameter. At this stage it will be a true potential ICBM. With an increase of 1/4 in diameter, to 2.5 meter, the payload can easily reach 1.5 tons. (According to the data of the Chinese CZ-11 evolution)

If the Sat images show that the test was for an engine that's 60-80cm then its safe to assume that it was the Raad-500 test.... the rest is just speculation! plus if we could build a 60cm in diameter SLV that's actually a good thing because it would mean we have the most advanced solid fuel program in the world! ;)

Diameter is a little more than sejjil...

It would be too cruel to argue with a survivor of the Ain al-Asad airbase.

Therefore, for the serious readers, just a small clarification, on why the diameter is ~60-80 cm:

• Zoljanah: ~60-80 cm diameter, ~50 kg LEO payload
• Tir: ~ 1 meter diameter, ~100 kg LEO payload (similar to Scout solid-propellant SLV)
• Mehr (Qaem 4th stage): ~1.25 meters diameter, ~ 200 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV : ~1.5 meters diameter, ~400 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV (Qaem 3rd stage): ~1.7 meters diameter, ~800 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV (Qaem 2nd stage): ~2 meters diameter, ~1'000 kg LEO payload (similar to CZ-11 solid-propellant SLV)

In a nutshell, all rocket stages will be tested separately, and only the final test will involve the 3.5 meters diameter Qaem SLV, topped with all the previously tested stages!

If a single stage and a two stage missile is capable of carrying the same amount of weight over the same distance , it doesn't necessarily mean the single stage missile is more advanced. It only means the engine is more powerful. There are many more important factors.

It is better to have 2 reliable engines than 1 unreliable. If the single stage engine uses 4 times the fuel of the two stage missile, the two stage has a more efficient engine and it is IMO more advanced. Missile production facilities are possible targets in wartime. How many factories can produce the single stage engine compared to the second stage missile? How fast can they be produced? How much do they both cost to produce?

There are many important factors. And for a country such as Iran. I think its smartest to invest in efficient and powerful multistage missiles that can easily be produced for cheap all around the country.

It would be too cruel to argue with a survivor of the Ain al-Asad airbase.

First it is not even a missile but a satellite carrier.

Second, the source you provided has no value, to the point that some might suspect the website being a state-run disinformation platform.

Again total confusion. It is a satellite carrier, not a missile.

The design differs as the purpose differs.

And we already had a glimpse of it. But my post got deleted, so no more comment on it. :stop:

What are you talking about??? If your after data and real pic's just search the site iv seen more there than anywhere else online... As for what the German speculations were if you can separate speculation from fact that's your own issue!

its not as if their speculation was any more absurd than a 60cm (Diameter) SLV putting 50 kg sat in LEO! We'd love to have it but come on!

WTF is Unha-1? An imaginary Simorgh-1? The dude is so confused that in another page, he contradicts himself, and mistake it for the imaginary non-existent Paektusan-2 spawn from his feverish brain!

estimated diameter of some ~60-80 cm !!!

LOL

Everybody please remember his prediction...

We now have a good candidate for the first stage of the Zoljanah satellite carrier.

A solid propellant MRBM with range similar to the Shahab-3 MRBM: the 1'400-1'800 km Hajj Qassem !

Knowing that the Safir-1 SLV first stage was made of a stretched liquid propellant Shahab-3 MRBM.

Photogrammetric measurement indicates that if one assumes it is indeed derived from the Zolfaghar reentry vehicle (with a diameter of 68 cm), that would make the diameter of the Hajj Qassem's main motor roughly of 90 cm.

1. Photogrammetric measurement indicates a ~90 cm diameter for the Hajj Qassem's main motor.

Interestingly, the Hajj Qassem's nozzle doesn't come with any apparent graphite jet vanes.

2. The Hajj Qassem's nozzle doesn't come with any apparent graphite jet vanes.

Conclusion both the Zoljanah SLV's Hajj Qassem first stage and Salman 2nd (or 3rd) stage share the same diameter of ~90cm:

• Zoljanah: ~90 cm diameter, ~50 kg LEO payload
• Tir: ~ 1 meter diameter, ~100 kg LEO payload (similar to Scout solid-propellant SLV)
• Mehr (Qaem 4th stage): ~1.25 meters diameter, ~ 200 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV : ~1.5 meters diameter, ~400 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV (Qaem 3rd stage): ~1.7 meters diameter, ~800 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV (Qaem 2nd stage): ~2 meters diameter, ~1'000 kg LEO payload (similar to CZ-11 solid-propellant SLV)

Here an updated speculative CGI of the 3 stages solid propellant Zoljanah SLV of ~13 meter long and 0.9 meter diameter:

Conclusion both the Zoljanah SLV's Hajj Qassem first stage and Salman 2nd (or 3rd) stage share the same diameter of ~90cm:

• Zoljanah: ~90 cm diameter, ~50 kg LEO payload
• Tir: ~ 1 meter diameter, ~100 kg LEO payload (similar to Scout solid-propellant SLV)
• Mehr (Qaem 4th stage): ~1.25 meters diameter, ~ 200 kg LEO payload
• undisclosed SLV : ~1.5 meters diameter, ~400 kg LEO payload

Zaaaaart

Diameter is a little more than sejjil...
What a nonsense, as this version of 0.9 meter diameter is already so potent that it could well be used in the Iranian first Kinetic Kill Vehicle ASAT weapon complex version!

More massive is not better but a handicap. When stealth and mobility under wartime condition are paramount to survival.

Sejjil has a 22.5 tonnes with 18.2 meters long and 1.25 meter diameter.

Can not compare with the 7 tonnes 13 meters long 0.9 meter diameter Zoljana.

If it can't be off-road then what the purpose?

Specification of the Sardar Shahid Hajj Qasem Soleimani MRBM

۰۱ شهریور ۱۳۹۹ - ۰:۰۳

• Length: 11 meters
• Diameter: about 85 to 95 centimeters
• Length to diameter ratio (Slenderness ratio): about 11.6 to 12.4
• Mass: about 7 tons
• Payload: 500 kg warhead
• Atmospheric reentry speed: Mach 12
• Impact speed: Mach 5
• Range: 1400 km
• Extanded Range: can be increased to 1700 to 1800 kilometers
• Stabilizing planar fins: 8 fixed
• Control fins in the warhead: 4

Preliminary calculations show that the rocket's velocity in the outer atmosphere could make it viable for anti-satellite missions up to orbit below 600 kilometers in the future.

The need to add aerodynamic control fins in the detachable warhead of the ballistic missile version, is presumed to be replaced in the Zoljanah satellite carrier version by a block of either liquid or solid propellant Roll and Attitude Control System (RACS), placed on top of the Shahid Hajj Qasem Soleimani MRBM solid propellant motor section.

The Zoljanah is presumed to be made of 3 solid propellant stages as following:

• First stage: Sardar Shahid Hajj Qasem Soleimani MRBM
• Second stage: Salman-1 TVC, 300 kg
• Third stage: Arash-24, 100 kg
• Payload: 50 kg
Total: 7 tons
