Israeli Police Demolish Bedouin Mosque Rahat






Tensions are rising between Israeli Jews and Arabs after the demolition of a Muslim house of worship. Hundreds of Israeli Arabs clashed with police who arrived in the southern town of Rahat to demolish a mosque that was built illegally. The protesters threw stones, and riot police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd. There were no injuries.

One Arab resident compared the State of Israel to the Nazis.
He told Israel Radio that what the Nazis did to the Jews, Israel is doing to the Arabs. "There is no difference between Israel's behavior and Hitler's," he said.

Statements like that touch a raw nerve among Jewish Israelis because six-million Jews died in the Nazi Holocaust during World War II. Israeli Arabs make up about 20 percent of the population, but this resident said he no longer feels like a citizen of the State of Israel.
"They did not break down a mosque," he said. "They broke the hearts of all Muslims."

Shlomo Tseazer, an Israel Land Administration official, said the demolition was carried out according to a court order.
He told Israel Radio that police were simply enforcing the law against a mosque that was constructed illegally on public property. He said the same law applies to mosques and synagogues alike.

But Israeli Arabs do not believe that. They say the demolition is another act of discrimination by the Jewish state against the Arab minority.

There are a lot of other mosques as well in Israel. If they did want to destroy "all" mosques, then you can raise an alarm. But if this was deemed illegal (constructed on Illegal land) then why do you want to give a communal flavor to it?

So if you build a mosque in the middle of a National Highway, will that mean no one should touch it?

That is immaterial here. Also, the view point that you espouse is supported by only a few fringe states in the world, whose opinions matter little in the larger picture. So save it.

Are people really that dumb to get carried away by emotions and not looking at the matter with a clear mind? The 'mosque' was built illegally on a public property. So it HAD to go. Simple. No ifs and buts here. There are laws to be followed, and people in many countries, surprisingly, follow them. There are LEAs and LEOs who see to it that laws are enforced. Not unlike some countries where the writ of the state is openly challenged by half educated religious zealots.

ps: Before anyone happily jumps the gun here, I also wish that illegal structures which sprout over busy sidewalks in India are also demolished in a similar manner! bangalore is infamous for such structures. I will refrain from calling them "Mandirs" or 'Temples'.

Do you know what Illegal means ? Israeli state itself is Illegal which has defied over 65 Passed UN resolutions which no other country on the planet has done so far.

The Land belongs to its original owners and they own the right to build whatever they want. But you wont understand would you as your own history is full of oppression , snubbing Lands and wealth , Nuking civilians , stealing oil , Hanging black Americans for having *** with a white girl.
