The problem with your kind of hatemongers is they all conveniently hide behind religion and satisfy their ego and vomit hatred so much that religion itself starts to stink

Zia has done several good things no doubt about that. Even his policy of getting engaged in Afghanistan was partially right for this gave him time and money and thwart the pressure of the West to get the nuclear program completed. However, his policy of allowing madrasas to grow like mushrooms, not curbing religious extremism, trying to implement religion at the state level, and letting Afghan refugees infest the country unchecked have done huge damage to Pakistan. There are always two sides of the coin and I have yet to know a person who is completely good or completely bad.

Regarding Qaadyanis... it was Bhutto who declared them non-Muslim and not Zia, that should get cleared. There were no persecutions of Qadyanis in Zia's time and I am a personal witness to that. There were several Qadyani officers working with my father and they got promoted etc and even reached to the ranks of Director General. Zarwan, I tell you one thing. Religion is one's very personal business. It should not bother you so long a person is serving his country and doing his/her job well.

After this TTP scum, we need to go after the unofficial contractors-of-the-religion aka political religious parties. Finish them off and Pakistan will be a better place to live.

Another finger pointing article from an Ex Pakistani who tries to protect his family legacy of burning this country to the ground. This country took begging foreign powers for sustenance to a whole new level. I was confused if the writer was a mard e momin or mard e momina from the picture. Had to find author's name to make sure and congratulate Zia on his wonderful accomplishment and hope he is looking down on his extended family and the legacy he left.

You better not say anything against Zia ul Haq otherwise @Hyperion would go ape-sh*t on you !

You don't know do you that he even named his first born son as Zia ul Haq Hyperion & his first born daughter as Zia-rina Hyperion ! :o:

And if that wasn't enough hes started a political party where the prime aim is to rename Pakistan as Zia-istan ! :pissed:

But I'm sure you - my Brother - will ensure that we make Pakistan as the Republic of Buttistan as we always dreamed of ! :smokin:

It was Mr. Bhutto and legislators and creators of 1973 constitution who laid the foundation of the present day religious disaster in Pakistan. Gen Zia simply built on the foundation that was provided to him by Bhutto & Co and Moudoodi. It was not Zia who banned Alcohol or declared certain groups non-Muslims. Having said that, I do hold him responsible for dragging Pakistan into the so-called Afghan Jihad (I call it fasad). If it was not for that fasad, Pakistan would be a better country. However, successive governments are as much accompliced for they literally continue disastrous policies of Gen. Zia.

However, there is another point of view to the so considered 'fasad'........and I'd rather not be speaking Russian today!

No Sir, it is ignorant people like you who try to stuff religion "as a system" down the throats of a wider society with diversity of thought and opinion and always fail. Theocracy never works. Even in the golden days gone by, Islam only flourished when it was left as a personal matter and not adopted as state policy.
