What's new

Your Profession, Your Education, The universities/colleges you went to

There was a time when I wrote 32 exams (We call papers in India) in a single year. 8 ICWA, 8 GDMM, 12 CFA, 4 Import export management. I spend lots of my leaves and huge chunk of money in study. Most of which has proved useless.
I was gonna say - you must have spent years studying for so many qualifications.

Yes. So many years.Spend all of leaves and money in study. My CFA course fees more than my salary. Even IIM study was bit costly. I took an owth not to study further 3 years back after my convocation from IIM kashipur. I had done that earlier as well but I broke it many time. Now , I have decided not to study further and I hope to stick to it. Now I don't study anything related to my profession but of my interest. I study permaculture now.

- Bachelors - Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai.
- Made it useless by doing an MBA in finance immediately. Worked in the M&A division of consulting firms and PE funds for over a decade.
- Got sick of the spreadsheet / powerpoint life. Dumped it to learn programming. Became an ace developer and made an app which no one wanted to use.
- Finally withdrew from the rat race and became a cartoon illustrator and writer. I continue to accept tech work if the project is challenging and has a creative element.

lol, I hear ya buddy. What I did is mostly unrelated to what I studied.

Luckily all my study are on government (US Army pay for my college when I sign up ROTC), then it cost me nothing to do the certificate, both Australian qualification are done via FEE-HELP, which I have to pay back once I earned 55,000 a year, and I make sure I didn't earn that much..

Hoo-ah

(Actually, we don't say Hoo-ah much, I never even used them when I was in active duty, this is one of the movie thing that got blown out of proportion.)

Bsc Computer Science.

Been in and around software development and QA for nearly 20 years since.

By the way, it seems we have so many very well educated people here, which makes some of the lowly levels of discourse even more disappointing.

It is because of the level of the forum. It has given freedom to those semi educateds to comment anything. This has made the forum a troll forum and people adjust to that.

Bachelors in CS/Eng. and Masters in Finance, working in the latter somewhere at this time.

I wish I could go back to studying, best time of my life so far was the postgrad studies, nothing better than studying something one enjoys and writing research. If working and earning weren't a factor, I'd want to go back and continue researching, maybe publish something worthwhile.

I've always heard this is a very lucrative combo
