Yak-130 to Bangladesh in May

Delivery of the first Yak-130 training and combat aircraft to Bangladesh will begin next May, according to statements made during the international exhibition Aero India 2015 in Bangalore

A contract for 16 aircraft was signed in 2013, as part of a larger weapons sales worth 1 billion USD. Bangladesh is paying for all of this by means of a Russian loan.

Next to Russia, the Yak-130 is operated by Belarus, where training on the type starts this month. Vietnam is expecting deliveries also, with Kazakhstan also showing interest. Furthermore, the Yak-130 participates in tenders for trainer and combat aircraft in Malaysia and the Philippines.

It's good that you aim high. But problem is what jet are you guys training for? Y130 is a very expensive trainer so you guys must have very advanced planes that you need to spend so much money on Y130s.

K-8 will be better suited for BAF as an intermediate trainer. Still it's their money, however they want to spend it. Maybe they are buying them to be deployed as actual fighters?

Bangladesh is a pragmatic peaceful nation. We have no intention for jf17. Long term plan is Russian and Chinese advanced platforms. So we have to train with Russian and Chinese trainers. PT 6 primary, K8 medium, YAK advanced. Now BD air force had always experience with 3rd generation air crafts. We cant so easily switch to 4.5 generation ships. We must know how to operate first.

We can build anything. We just dont do it. Different requirements for different nations. We are focusing of people's development now.

It is junk in comparison with even j10. Su 30, mig 35, j20, j31 are in our wishlist.

You can't even afford that Junk, currently you are operating Chinese J-7 BGIs which are upgraded junk, please throw them away too.

Even BDs Mig-29s can't handle JF-17s because it is NCW capable and they call it junk. wow.
