Buying trainers is not early or expensive.our training air crafts are aging and obsolete.15 mil for an air craft like yak130 is nothing.And there is plan to build our own trainers by 2020. so you see they are going as according the plan.
if only you have the habit to read before replying, you would have seen I said 'aging and obsolete' while replying to aung zaya.So I'm going to say it again for you,BAF training inventory is aging and obsolete and accident prone.In order to get more up to date training BAF decided to go for K-8 and yak-130.K-8 will replace aging L-39's while yak-130's will have dual role as advanced trainer and CAS and take the palce of A-5 fantans which has already retired.So we only bought some k-8 for training and yak-130 for CAS.period.

Finally someone understood the doctrine.My knowledge is very little but i think every country has there own requirment, they have there own strategy, battleplan . our economy, forigin & internal affair with other country also differient compare to india or pakistan.
in my openion " JF-17 " is not a junk, it,s a very good platfrom for PAF. since paf operating F-16 for there main air supurity role. so it,s a high-low mix. but does it means our air force also need JF-17 ?

we don't need an huge air wing of so great fighters rather an medium but very efficient force.

They are BOTH 4th gen my friend. What do you think Mig 29SM2 becomes when you upgrade one component even further? Does it become 4.575 gen?
