What's new

Yak-130 to Bangladesh in May

1. bd yak130 is different version, trainer+ground attack (costing around $23 million)
2. yes BAF will be first nation to have more trainers than fighters. if u buy new fighter, will have new tech. will need new tech training, so tell how will u get those training ?
3. the actual plan is to buy 10 squadrons fighters (`160 aircrafts) within 10-12 years|
4. i see u don't have knowledge and keep avoiding my question. again anwser, what components difference among them ?
5. btw yak-130 also for 5th gen training
1. K8 is also trainer+ ground attack, costs only $10m
2. How do you think rest of the world does it? Even if BD needed trainers such expensive ones are not justified.
3. I hope the plan succeeds. I wish BAF best of luck.
4. THAT is my biggest problem with Y130. That it is unnecessarily advanced and expensive. Sure it has a lot of bells and whistles but does BAF really need them when BAF has no plan on getting 5th gen fighters. If and when they do get them, they can then buy these white elephants.

1. K8 is just trainer, and K8 is advance trainer not LIFT trainer.
2. how rest of the does ? well rest of the world kept its advancing its trainers.
3.bold: you in BAF plan ? and that is most stupid logic i ever heard, u really read yours post ? u don't know how to fly but buy stuff ? seriously ? ! !

. . .
BAF is going to upgrade all Mig 29s to SMT. @BDforever is it part of the deal of Russian loan?
Hopefully after upgradation BAF will full fill the squadron by buying more Migs.
Its sums all. Y130 will train for SMT series and also for future superior fighters.

That seems very promising and honestly speaking then practical too. BAF already have operated Mig-29s since decades and SMT/K standard 29s will be one of the best platforms in the region.

Yes I was thinking the same, why not LIFT version of JF-17? What was problem?

Yak-130 can simulate multiple aircraft, both Western and Russian. Also, they'd replace the A-5's (which are probably retired by now) with them for CAS operations.

Those were the main reasons behind the choice. At least on paper.

The JF-17 is a good plane. But there could issues with the Russians since the JF-17's we'd be getting would likely be using the RD-33.

.
Like Russians are gonna give you money to buy Chinese fighter and Chinese are so insane that they sell J-10 to Hasina gov.period.
Why would we need Russian loans? China can give us loans at better terms.

which one is pathetic crap ? and after buying 20-40 J-10, what would we do ? just watching it since we would not know how to fly ?
Ever heard of training, just like the training the Russians provided us for Yak-130, China could do that to our Air Force.

.
Gripen or the f16 blk 60 might be very good options for BAF

they can't afford it now

Spending $1 billion for 2 dozen pathetic crap, we could have spent that money to buy 20-40 J-10 for it. Clearly shows the corruption that took place in the deal.

1 billion US dollar is not much today in terms of military spending, you can only get at least 12 to 16 J10A with that money, as you will spend more money for associated ground support and ILS

Air interdiction roles with WSO in the back seat and came another function for training new pilots, i think Yak-130 is value for money as you must retiring your old A-5 Fantan

you are welcome :D

financial constraint still limiting Bangladesh resources to made an advance for the next generation fighter, at least you can find alternative way to made a better deal in which worth for bucks. Bought a system is a matter, and operating them and maintaining them is a whole different matter

It was reported that China was willing to sell Iran 24-40 J-10A for $1 billion in 2007, the deal also included training, maintenance, ammunition (air-to air missile). The total cost of a J-10A including maintenance and training is $40 million, that means we could afford at least 12 of those (12 J-10 is much better than 24 Yak-130 trainers). If we neded trainers, we could have bought the K-8 from China, they are much cheaper.

so u want to rely on others for training ? do u know how much it cost ? how much make it expensive for operation ? idiots

2007, today? you must including inflation rates, concession offer (China willing to sell those plane cheaply to Iran is because they need Iran oil and gas shipment, and what can Bangladesh offer to China as substitute for cheaper prices?) and other factors such as China production line and order has been placed for the plane itself
