What's new

Xi's China rising, Trump's America waning

It's just the natural order of things. Due to the dissemination of technology, it has now come within the reach of every country out there.

America's exponential decline (as saw with them crying and threatening the entire world in the UN a few days ago) was inevitable, Trump is just speeding up the process.

China is just a symptom. In fact, America's relative power has been declining relative to the ENTIRE world, not just the developing world, but even developed countries and supposed US allies like UK/France/Germany/Japan have laughed in America's face in the UN like they were a joke.

See Trump's class, that we was openly slinging mud against the UK Prime minister and the German Prime minister, both of whom were women, which given Trump's track record is hardly surprising.

Trump runs America like a shitty reality TV show, if he thought that goading North Korea into nuking several American cities would give him more "ratings" and get more people to talk about "Trump" then he would do it. Since him and his family will be safe in nuclear fallout shelters.

And that doesn't just apply to Trump, but the entire American political class.

Exponential decline? Is that truly reality or simply your wishful thinking Dragon? If we're in decline, then why has our GDP and national wealth outpaced yours in recent years? Can the world project power across the globe the way the US can? Who else has the combination of science, technological, and cultural influence that the US possesses?

We've faced greater competition than today. The Soviets alone had larger global influence than any other competitor today due to their Marxist ideology, scientific achievements, and military footprint. They were a true near peer competitor. China, on the other hand, can't even dominate its own region.

Yes, exponential relative decline.

Just look at how seriously the world takes all those American threats in the last United Nations session.

Would that have happened in 1995? Or 2001? Was Trumpland a laughing stock back then?

There are many Pew Research center global polls on this regard and if the whole world sees more and more this way, there must a reason for that. USSR had never got this close to US economic wise and US never lost GDP ppp term to any countries until overtaken by China some years ago.

No one cares about a symbolic vote, when it means next to nothing on the ground. Presidents are temporary, yet US hard power remains. Diplomatic soft power fluctuates with changes in the Oval Office. The world wasn't exactly fond of Bush either.

China now has more railways, more subways, more highways, more ports and bridges, more cars and more middle class population and even millionaires than US, the list goes on and is still changing in China's favor, It had never happened in recent world history, USSR was not a good reference in this case.

. . . .
China now is the world biggest trading nation, biggest manufacturing nation, biggest oil importer.. China now is the biggest trading partner to most countries and continents, you never saw that in recent world history before and China made that happen in barely 2 decades.

China doesn't come close to the level of influence the Soviets enjoyed globally. Many countries around the world emulated their Marxist ideology including China. They also put the first satellite and man into space. China hasn't achieved anything close to that level of technological disruption. Again, they were a true peer competitor.

An China has actually lost ground to the US in GDP and national wealth over the last 5 years.

We're talking global influence buddy. Try to keep up...

That is very true, USSR exerted their influence militarily and politically without a strong backup from their economy and that's the very reason they failed miserably, China took a totally different approach, we focus on economy , we believe once you have the economic might, everything else will naturally come with it.

We never slept.

We put fools like James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, and Richard Nixon into office. Did that stop US from becoming a global superpower? What these rubes on PDF fail to realize is that US power is derived from the American people, not a temporary President.

They are used to being sheeples so now they expect Americans to be the same.

Same is true for every country.
