Wow, this brings back memories. Back when I was just starting elementary school two decades ago, the school teaches, almost in fairy tales style, the importance of forest barriers against wind erosion. It is good to see after two decades we are making quite a bit progress.

How is the rainfall in Indonesia? I know that in western part of China, a big challenge for re-forestation is securing the water, since it is so far away from ocean and the rainfall is pretty low. Does Indonesia have an easier time since its has bigger coastal line coverage? Or is it more of a seasonal thing where there is dry and wet season?
