Everyone would be well versed to realize the the Rafale and MKI are both capable of swing role duties. Which is not seen in Asia as of yet unless the Typhoons can also do this in the current tranche.
2nd, Rafales life cycle costs and down time are lower than the MKI and other Flankers. While more expensive to buy out, less a required for the same effect and coverage. Hell the sole reason the MKI was built was because the MK varient could not hack it when it came to IAF requirements. Where the PLAAF were still learning BVR combat IAF had learnt from the Europeans of Swingrole and its possibility. No longer require a single aircraft for 1 duty on a single mission. 1 aircraft multiple missions in one sortie. Thats what the MKI brought back in the early century before even the Rafale.
